Oh my god why am I having to listen to John McEnroe commentate this match?

I had the wonderful Jelena Dokic commentating the first SF here in Aus and now I have to suffer through this idiot? Disgusting.

Tennis needs Sabalenka. She has the potential to win a good number of majors and establish herself at the forefront of the post-Serena era.

Ons is not that kind of player up to this point.
Idk, I do like Sabalenka’s game as a mix of extremes, sheer power coarsing through her veins that she harnesses yet struggles to control. she’s an interesting case study on court to be sure.

But a screamer like her is hard to root for. She also elongates it for about 5 seconds.

I don’t remember who Evert made that comment about, saying the women hit just as hard as the men, it was obviously rather silly.

But Sabalenka absolutely hits as hard and in fact harder than a lot of men do, especially the conservative pusher types. Not as much spin but when she gets a second serve she absolutely laces it.

There is a match on Court 2 that I would like to watch but it doesn't seem like it's televised

Rennae Stubbs / Zimonjic vs Majoli / Andrew Castle

What they ignore a lot of the time is though is the girls are all hitting pretty flat. If they show the RPM stats there is going to be a big difference.

Much better than the first match. No idea if Vondrousova can beat either of these women, because she just didn't have to work that hard against Svitolina today. I guess we'll see in the final.

I *kind of* like Sab.
The thing with her game though is that at any moment, it can start to implode.
This is even with Sab2 (the new and improved version).
That's probably the main reason I am not a big fan of hers.

Can we just keep the "woke" crap commentary out of this. Just keep this to tennis please.
Oh, come on. You still jump into many threads still whining about Djokovic's off court personal health decisions which do not have a thing to do with the specifics of a tennis match, career, etc.

Further, few ever hold back discussing Russia, etc. in nearly every thread where a native to that country is even mentioned.

Well that's true of both of them :D She at least has achieved a consistency at the slams not seen since before Serena was a mother.

This has been one of the best sets of the tournament so far.

I really think it'll be a who blinks first here, both players totally equal to the task.

Ons' precision, guile and magic vs. Sabalenka's power, pace, and fear factor.

What a contest.
