Terrible.
I think that:So then I must ask, why did she wait until age 33 to start using these tools? Was toiling away in relative mediocrity for 10 years really that enjoyable for her?
Wow, what a switcheroo! Now Elena playing so well.
True! Not so much. Her game seems about the same, Pegula's has definitely dropped.
Like I said on another thread, the tennis world right now needs someone like Carlitos. This whole tournament has been suck city.
Yes, her accent is very heavy, and she says a lot of strange things while trying to use American slang. Is that the one that only repeats what the other announcer says and then make some stupid comment like 'yeah she should hit more winners' and her accent is really heavy?
She never shows any "fire," if you mean fire in, like, the Danielle Collins sense.Rybakina definitely off her game tonight and not showing any fire, either. But credit to Pegula for bringing that to bear. She’s playing great.
Again, she pretty much always looks like this. If she makes more shots than she misses, she wins.Pegula is playing well, but Rybakina looks like she's running out of steam.
Huh? How about all of the other players on the WTA and ATP tour that have "tried" tennis, and haven't peaked at 33 years old?I think that:
a) You should try tennis
b) It's the coach influence and her maturity
Wasn't Pegula helping dry the courts by hand with towels the other day?Poor Elena. She has to hold the umbrella over herself while billionaire Pegula gets a servant to hold the umbrella for her.
Nah, I'd still rather have Dustin Brown.Like I said on another thread, the tennis world right now needs someone like Carlitos.
He's fun to watch but overall he isn't all that good. Carlitos on the other hand is potentially the next tennis messiah!Nah, I'd still rather have Dustin Brown.
....and emerge from their cocoon of mediocrity.Sort of curious who would have taken that tiebreak; we’ll never know. With the rain break, as stated above, they can both re-set their minds.
That was nice of her but it doesn't explain why one player gets served but the other player doesn't. It kinda reeks of rich privilege.Wasn't Pegula helping dry the courts by hand with towels the other day?
Yup. I hate that. It's often like watching two different matches but only one counts.Sort of curious who would have taken that tiebreak; we’ll never know. With the rain break, as stated above, they can both re-set their minds.
LOL, is it some personal servant holding that, or did she just ask someone from the tournament to do it? ;-) I'm sure Rybakina could get the same treatment. That was nice of her but it doesn't explain why one player gets served but the other player doesn't. It kinda reeks of rich privilege.
and they both REALLY needed it.Commentator says both refused warm-up? WTH?
Maybe they both just can't wait to get it over with.Commentator says both refused warm-up? WTH?
AgainHere comes the rain again!
Ryb has her own servant now. Holding an umbrella, fanning her with a giant palm leaf, feeding her grapes and wine. That was nice of her but it doesn't explain why one player gets served but the other player doesn't. It kinda reeks of rich privilege.
It's only 7:30 where I am and I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Horrible first set, annoying rain delay, maybe it's a sign. And another delay. I'm going to bed.
The "stadium" court is literally a temporary court built within a football stadium which doesn't have a convertible roof.I thought Miami was supposed to be a famous tournament? Why are there no roofs?
Username certainly doesn't check out. It's only 7:30 where I am and I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Horrible first set, annoying rain delay, maybe it's a sign.
I'm currently in SoCal.Username certainly doesn't check out.
