I'd like that job. Is there an opening?Ryb has her own servant now. Holding an umbrella, fanning her with a giant palm leaf, feeding her grapes and wine.

I mean I know Woz was no ones favorite. But she did win 30 titles. Thats a heck of a fetcher. They say the Sunshine Double is hard. Almost a month of straight everyday tennis. JPeg ran out of steam, with added burden of the doubles matches. Ryba had those KT tapes on early part of IW, had them on again tonight. Their levels dropped percipitously but the desires were still there. Ryba yelled and screamed at her box, JPeg hit a ball out of the stadium, smashed her racket… it made for a poor watch technically, but compelling emotionally.
It also showed that JPEG needs to develop more offensive weapons. IS, AS, ER, SW, NO could all BEAT up on the opponents. Fetchers like Halep or Wozniaki win occasionally. Don’t be a fetcher.
Again, it's not easy to understand just by watching the game.Yes, her accent is very heavy, and she says a lot of strange things while trying to use American slang.
She never shows any "fire," if you mean fire in, like, the Danielle Collins sense.
Again, she pretty much always looks like this. If she makes more shots than she misses, she wins.
Huh? How about all of the other players on the WTA and ATP tour that have "tried" tennis, and haven't peaked at 33 years old?
And I'm not saying it's impossible, but you are implying she suddenly found all these new weapons or tools. Can it just be that she is having a good run of form? That happens to everyone, at various points of their careers, and isn't based on something particularly tangible.
Well I actually do play tennis myself, so now what? (And no, I'm not a pro, before you even bother to ask. So I'm still clueless, right?)Again, it's not easy to understand just by watching the game.
She did seem to volley very well in some situations, and those drop volleys looked very nice. Not sure if that is truly her level, or they just worked out well for her. Need a bigger sample size.It wasn't a great match but I noticed Rybakina's volleys have improved a lot.
Some of those drop volleys were brilliant.
She could be a serial Wimbledon winner if she keeps this up.
Yeah, she is known for her calm demeanor and composure, but that hasn't been the case here (or in IW). Maybe it's the family stuff going on, or maybe she now has higher expectations for herself. The free ride of mental clarity is seems to be over, though. It must hav even bad if Jesse pegula was breaking a racquet.
They should. But will they?the ATP and WTA should reinstate Wimbledon's lost points after this week.
10 straight points. 3 games in a row, last 2 at Love. She mad good.Kvitova is on fire right now.
With Wimbledon's announcement that it will allow Russians and Belarussians to play, the ATP and WTA should reinstate Wimbledon's lost points after this week. That punishment is no longer relevant, and it's ridiculous that Rybakina, the reigning Wimbledon champion, Indian Wells champion, Australian Open runner-up, and likely Miami winner is ranked #7 in the world when she should be #3.
Frustratingly streaky (or inconsistent, pick your term), like a lot of WTA players. Can look like an absolute world beater, or can look sloppy and confused.10 straight points. 3 games in a row, last 2 at Love. She mad good.
Oh, Jabeur, remember her? Seems like she hasn't played well in a while now. If she doesn't wake up this clay season, we may never see her reach this level again.and given how much Jabeur has to lose on the other hand.
Everything that went down with this points story (and with the war itself...) has been completely ridiculous. But on the flip side, she won't plummet dramatically if she happens to lose early this year. And her seeding is still good enough to not completely mess up any draws.
93mph ave on 2nd serve with 64% won and only 2 double faultsKvitova is on fire right now.
Agreed. If Kvitova plays the way she did today, and Rybakina plays the way she did yesterday, it's gonna go in favor of the Czech.Elena will need to bring his A game because Petra is playing extremely well.
Agreed. But I would have no problem with Petra winning. Old People rules.Elena will need to bring his A game because Petra is playing extremely well.
Yonex Poly Tour Fire 1.25What string is Rybakina using ?? its gotta be that string she's playing so good .....

Yeah...After that she got out hit and especially outserved on the 2nd serve. The match was over when Cirstea failed to convert the set points servicing 40-15 5-3.
I'm pulling strong for Petra but I'm not expecting victory. It would be nice to see Petra get one more big title, but I think Rybakina wins in 3 sets.
I prefer Martina, but Davenport is o.k.Where's Martina? Davenport won't shutup with all her history and stats. Martina talks about the strategy of the match as its being played.
