Oh, Sinner. A DF to end it. Not how he would like to end his season.

Congrats to Novak!

Says it all. What a joke.

I've been saying Djokovic could get CYGS next year and he's in fact never looked closer. Alcaraz and Sinner are the best players on tour and he handled them in straights. He's lengthened the gap. Don't think they will be able to get him at Slams next year or even the year after.

The hitting intensity and serving dropped off a fair bit towards the end (court started looking about 10% slower for Novak in the latter half of the second set) but that aside Djokovic played some great stuff in these last two matches. Big level raise on return compared to the groups and some great serving too. What a season.

Nole breaking the new gen spirit at eoy again, to start 2024 in force
Djokovic will peak at 37 starting next season.
Let's see if Nadal stops him in Paris 2024 and denies him the only major title that is missing from his monstrous career.
:)

Well at least the butthurt Rafans are butthurting like crazy... there's always a silver lining!

That, and 300 bucks to go drink away my sorrows :)

Feel bad that Sinner played so horribly and couldn't even make a match of it when he had his chances - which he did.

But congratulations to the one true goat of tennis. The highlander lives on.

Djokovic was sublime for a set and a half, and then got really nervy. Sinner really didn't take to him then when he had his chance and a terrible service game from him to end it. #7 for Djokovic to cap off another insane year for him. Another record broken for Djokovic today and 2023 is up there with his best seasons.
I can’t explain why that happens. It fascinates me. I mean the guy has been there done that so many times now, is arguably stronger mentally and punches back when his back against the wall..so why can’t he maintain the focus to the finish line? I don’t get the jitters at all by someone like him. I have very rarely seen Pete nervy once he gets his nose ahead…seems to be happening more these days with Djokovic .. that Wimby final was telling in set 2..

Probably because he's thinking about breaking the record here and he was so close, plus the crowd cheering his missed serves got into his head. We know how much he hates that. So then he starting getting nervous, hitting slower 2nd serves than we saw all match and his level dropped.

I wasn't there today, mercifully. Both sessions Thursday then some sightseeing Friday. I've always been opposed to paying a ton for one match, but it was definitely a cool setup, I must say. And my son had a blast (he even tried pickleball at the fan village!).

Breaking news: it appears the Finals will be in Turin at least until 2027.

Novak has build his game battling against prime Fedal. YOUNGSTERS SHOULD NEVER FORGET THIS. BECOME LIKE FEDAL OR GET DESTROYED. SIMPLE AS THAT.
Seems like all the youngsters sinse Dimitrov missed that part lol.

Of course it isnt a shame losing to Djokovic, but going out with a DF is kind of fitting for the NextGens.

Youngsters need to match Fedal standard of Tennis in order to stop Djokovic. Very high bar. Can't blame them.
They are light years away, honestly.
Alcaraz showed something superhuman in the Wimbledon final this season by being the only player to defeat the Serbian player in a major tournament.
