ATP H2H: 6-2 for Medvedev
H2H in 2023 season: 2-2 tied

Meddy bear will meet Jannik for the fifth time this season. The first two mutual matches in Rotterdam and Miami went in Meddy's favor, while the Beijing and Vienna encounters were dominated by Sinner. Who will win here?

Sinner's recent encounters against Medvedev and his currant form, my vote goes to Sinner for a win in 3 sets if we are lucky. I don't think Medvedev will keep his cool and focus with the pro-Sinner crowd. But I won't complain if I'm wrong.

Very interesting match and hard to call. I feel Meddy has saved energy for this. Sinner has looked better and with home support is slight favourite.

Meddy though would love to spoil party and he’s still got a good H2H against the Italian overall. Sinner though has won last 2 so has slight edge.

Sinner in 3 is my prediction

I hope Sinner wins just to punish Medvedev for tanking against Alcaraz in order to avoid Djokovic. It would be poetic justice.

This said, realistically speaking, I think Medvedev is the favourite.

Sinner should be the slightly stronger player but Medvedev is still a bad matchup and the slick surface helps him as he himself pointed out. So I would say 40/60, but much will depend on the day and some points.

As close as it gets really. Can't wait, but I do give the edge to Sinner, as his form has been the best of anyone post USO. However anyone can win.

Sinner‘s last win over Medvedev was a much more complicated one, compared to his first victory over the russian. So I really am thrilled to see this match. Though as a Sinner fan I‘m also quite nervous - these are probably Medvedev‘s most favourable conditions. Also the expectations on Jannik are getting higher - til now he looked like having the right mindset and controlling his emotions really well. Though I‘m wondering if at some point he feels the pressure of delivering at this big stage in front of his home crowd - also kind of being the favourite.

But with how both played throughout this week, I‘d say Sinner wins in 3.

Sonic Jannik in straights is my vote and what I hope for. Taking his physical fragility into account MadMed could overcome him in 3 though. Tough call, I would not bet on this.

If Sinner plays according to his abilities on this court he wins no matter what Daniil has to offer. If not, Daniil will prevail when the match gets longer and gruelling

I think that the result of this match may be a shock for many. Medvedev seems to come to his senses on this fast hard. Despite the score, he looked good against Alcaraz. It's hard for me to imagine him losing to Sinner for the third time in a row.

Meddy will be ready. His tank to Karl yesterday was to save energy for the match which actually matters against Sinner.

The Octopus in 3.

Why are you allowing multiple votes in the poll?

I don't think Medvedev tanked, he got outplayed by the Spaniard. Its a tough matchup for him, and I believe that the USO SF was more of an outlier than a norm between these two.

Tanking is exaggerated, but he didn't fight either. From the middle of the 1st set he was at 50-60%. He knew he had to lose in straight sets in order to avoid Djokovic in Semis... And when he saw Sinner struggling with his back, I'm sure it was tempting. 2 years ago he fought to win his 3 RR matches, it cost him a lot of energy for the final and he lost. Medvedev is 6-2 against Sinner and 5-10 against Djokovic (including a beatdown in a Slam final). There is no debate in terms of matchup. It doesn't mean Medvedev will win this one, but if Sinner is tired and has some back pain, it'll be an important factor. Even fresh, he barely won the Vienna final. He needs to win this one in straight sets if he wants to keep a chance to lift the trophy tomorrow.

Intriguing match. The h2h is overwhelmingly with Medvedev, but Sinner won the last two. Hard to call, I'll say Sinner in 3 but won't be surprised by any outcome.
