Where does Mannarino get his insane reflexes from? That first serve was a let but he still returned it with interest from 2 meters behind the service line

Mannarino deserves his nickname "The Wizard" not because he uses trick shots (like the Magician, Santoro) but because it's pure wizardry how he manages to get such pace on his shots while barely swinging at the ball.
20Kg tension stringing helps !

It's amazing, in the first half of this set every single Shelton service game was a multiple-deuce epic, and every Mannarino one was a breeze, and since he's gone up a double break that script seems to have completely flipped. Impressive from the kid, and proof that baldy is in fact just a human being.

I REALLY wanted the Hang Up the Phone rematch, but Shelton's inability to hang in a rally, and the casual ease with which Mannarino has been handling the boys serve means there's really only one deserved winner here. Hope he finishes it off.

That's a shame. I was rooting for the young gun. Mannarino deserves it, I guess, but it's just disappointing that Shelton wasn't able to figure him out. As much as Mannarino is a wizard, I think Shelton playing like crap in the last two sets was the biggest reason he won.

Well done Wizard! Very VERY disappointing from Ben the telephone guy. Even there at the end, with Manna clearly ready to choke it away, he bungled one shot after another.

You play like crap, when you can't figure out your opponent.

Cahill said that Murray beat Sinner in two practice sets last week. Did Sinner struggle to hit through his defenses? Makes you go ‘Hmm!’
That means diddly squat as Murray goes flat out in practice and others like Janick and Novak hold a lot back in practice.

Last year pre Wimbeldon Murray beat Novak 6-2 in practice set and Sinner also beat Novak in practice . When Wimbledon started Murray was out quickly and in SF Novak beat Janick I'm straight sets

You can't deny that this Shelton kid has some things that remind you of a young Nadal
Hmmm... Ben is 21.3 years old. At the exact same age, Rafa had won 3 slams, 9 Masters 1000's and 23 total tournaments.

Ben has one career title.

I honestly can't see one single element in their games that they have in common except both are lefties. Their play styles are diametrically opposite, never mind that young (and old) Nadal is 500 times the player Shelton will ever be.
