I can't figure out why fans don't like Mannarino. His game is a joy to watch.
I’ve watched a couple of his matches in person courtside on small courts and was bored. He doesn’t hit very hard, his spin is less, he can’t hit great angles as a result. One of those matches involved Sinner beating him in straight sets and Sinner‘s game which is not particularly exciting (while effective) looked much more interesting.

You're observations about Mannarino were not true in tonights match. I watched all five sets and he was fast on his feet and hitting angles. He's a counterpuncher with a low tension racket and has made it to the top 20 in world at age 35. I admire his efforts. 3 Doing it his way.

What a mug Shapo is. I am beginning to root against that NextGen cohort - Med Zed Pas Rublev Shapo Coric etc. - at all costs.

Disappointed Med and Tsitsipas had opponents fall foul to injury before they could complete the job. NextGen can all go out in the early rounds for all I care. Seen waaaaaay too much of them in late rounds of Slams.

We all know the story and the script and more than being disappointing, it’s simply just boring. I gain nothing from watching Rublev lose another QF, Tsitsipas BH and return get ruthlessly exploited for the 100th time, Medvedev’s return position give 50 easy SnV points to his opponent with no adjustments.

It was bad material in the first place now so repetitive as to be stale. The grooves have been dug so deep that no new material can fill them. They have calcified and become yesterday’s news. If we could never see them play tennis again, we would all be better for it.

Eubanks attacking every ball. That's a good sign. Hope he can keep it close to the chest. He's cracking every ohbh he gets right now.

Murray breaks back! Man this already feels like its gonna be a long one. Sadly only have half an hour to watch him grunt like a baby goat blowing up a balloon so time to make a bowl of wheetos and enjoy!

Easy to bang on the NextGen top 10 players because they mostly can’t get through Djokovic who keeps elevating his game and making it more offensive as he gets older. But they are mostly very consistent about making it to the late rounds of major tournaments and living up to their seeding. It looks easy, but consider the fact that Murray hasn’t made it to the 2nd week of a Slam since 2017 or Thiem hasn’t made it into the top 80 three years after his wrist injury - it is not so easy to get to the top 10 and stay there for a long time. What is even harder is of course beating Djokovic in Slams, but it has been that way since 2011.

It's sad when I see my favorites deteriorating with age. It feels not too long ago that Stan was beating Djokovic and Nadal at the AO and FO and now he's old and getting ousted in the 1st round to the ultimate pusher. Time to hang then up Stan, your HOF career is already complete.

Why doesn't Murray adopt a more aggressive game? I don't understand why.. nothing to lose at this stage as his current defensive style is not working with his older body. Why not try something else, which is actually conducive to an older body that can't defend in the same way that he used to?

Eubanks starts off his AO campaign looking like a top 10 player, smacking winners everywhere like he wants another grand slam record for highest amount hit.

He can only play the way he's used to but he can't even do that effectively anymore. He's finished, we all know it and I think he knows it too. This beatdown should give him pause for thought about carrying on. I expect one last apparance at Wimbledon for him and he should really call it quits there! :(:(:(

Andy makes everything so grueling.
Sad to see Murray struggling at this stage and after all those efforts post hip surgery. Why is he continuing beats me. There is no chance he will win grand slam if he struggles that hard.
Doubles will be more fun and keep him engaged too.

'Cause he's never been able to generate power consistenly (pusher alert) and he doesn't have a big serve to adopt a S&V game plan.

I was really hoping for one more Djokovic vs Wawrinka and/or Murray match here. But I guess we have to accept that it can only happen in the first round now.
