I have hard time to pick the match but so far czeching the Czech-match between Lindy and Marie. So far it has been almost all Noskova: she has produced the winners and also the UEs. Lindy is leading 4-1 and she will win if she just keeps the package together as they say. Tactically I think she is hitting too much drop shots, so far won about half of the points after hitting one but they come less and less as a surprise to Marie.

Lindy is no Ons. Twice in a same game formulaic-drop shot after which she completely played herself(!) out of the point!

Vondrousova is hopeless, only won that Wimbledon because Pegula had the abysmal choke in the 3rd set in the QF and then she faced the nervy Jabeur in the final.

Ons did all the work to take out Andreescu, Kvitova, Rybakina and Sabalenka back to back to back to back only to blow it to Marketa who has just been pretty crap ever since.

Meanwhile Yastremska is actually playing well. Kind of hope she can keep it up.

(just as I post this she hits the Shank of the Match to go to deuce on her serve, followed by an overhead with the top of her racket, and a badly missed volley. Still in this game somehow.)

Yastremska barely escaped Aussie WC Maya Joint in the final round of qualifying just a few days ago. Maya was ranked in the #560's. So for Dayana to go from barely beating a player outside the top 500 to what looks like a top 10 win here over Vondrousova, that's very good.

Errani-Hunter is pretty painful. I know Errani is well past her prime, but man, she can't do anything. She hits so shallow. Nevertheless, Hunter almost gave up a 5-1 lead in the first. Hunter SHOULD win this, which would be nice for her to get her first Slam singles win at home.

I don't follow the women's side as much as the men's but what the heck is going on there? The Wimbledon champion losing 1 and 2 to someone I've never heard about. It's getting hard to root for someone because they often fade away as soon as they rose up to the scene.
