50% career win on HC and 64% on clay career

But even in last 52 he is 14 wins and 18 losses (under 50% on HC )

If you ever play him in hard courts odds are you win no matter who.

Bu really announced himself last week prior to losing to ZZZ.
Shang winning a title then falling to Bu likely shows how that run and elation can take it out of you for the next week but this run for Bu standing alone with ZZZ and Shang already out is a nice payoff. He was basically the 3rd most successful Chinese player last week and this week he's the only male home play left in the draw and up to a new career high of 83.
ZZZ at 41 and Shang at 51 so in theory Shang could leapfrog before year's end pending results in Shanghai and beyond.

Very true, Musetti also coming off the final in Chengdu from Tuesday, might be a bit tired.

Also, never easy playing a Chinese player in China, they just find an extra gear. Look at Zhang Shuai!
I remember when Peng beat Sharapova back in 2009 I think it was. You're right, sometimes they do just find that extra gear and their game flourishes. Her groundies were always pretty heavy when at her best, but taking Sharapova out in straights was impressive. I'm eager to see how the guys play at the Shanghai Masters next week.

Lol Alcaraz needs to decide if he's going dtl or cc when stretched to the right. You can't feed pace on the run right down the middle.

Yeah this mini stretch since USO feels like his playing to his HC potential ala 2021-2022.
It was always a motivation problem, sinner hasnt had that problem yet, but It can happen when you get to number 1 and win 4 slams so Young, you just cant be on top of your Game the whole season, age Will teach him to pace himself, hes as good a hard courter as anyone

Man, Carlitos in the zone, sight to behold. The kid was unplayable, winning 61.62. Tallon neutralised. Points to note for Carlitos: excellent serving / excellent returning/ excellent shotmaking & related winners. Things to watch include unforced errors and converting to win the game.

Oh my god man... Hes just playing on another level
Heh,heh, yah, man. The level that will hopefully remain consistent for the remaining year.

With this win, Carlitos adds to his already illustrious resume, winning his 200th tour level match, 2nd quickest to do so after McEnroe.

Bu enjoying his run here, outplaying Musetti. KK also through, and will play Carlitos next in the qf. Anticipating that Rublev will get through, let's see.

Very impressive record indeed for Carlos!

Musetti is a different player on natural surfaces even if his talent shines also there....

Finally over the Olympic hangover. He's had a lot of time to recharge the batteries after the early USO exit.

I usually take a couple month tennis break after the USO but with most of the top guys in this tournament it has my attention.

That Griekspoor annihilation is probably the nicest indoor match I've seen from Alcaraz. His returns were on point and setting up the rest of his game.

Beijing is actually outdoor. I always think of it as indoor, too, for some reason.

Sinner saved two set points in TB 4:6 behind, It looked like Lehecka was going to take it, he was sharp and Sinner was dipping with uncharacteristic errors, but got back just in time and won 4 points in a row to finish it.
