Got a break. Got broken back in the next game. Very bad a game.
Next game, 0 40; 3 more break chances for Carlos. Carlos throws a rocket 3m behind the baseline to earn the break in the first opportunity. Crazy match.

Bu looks like Alcaraz Ferrer mixture.
More consistent and able to grind like David but stays inside baseline like Carlos.

Sinner gets cynical to himself (gives himself thumbsup) wasting so many breakpoints. Rare sight
Also old habit of not enough variation in spin and height of the balls. Plays into Bu's strengh : tenacious hitting the same balls over and over again

It looks like this is only the 2nd ATP tour Bu ever entered, the previous one was Hangzhou 250 a week ago, before that he played in Challenges.

As he is inside top 65 now, he will play Shanghai anyway despite ranking but now he will get direct entry to all slams and masters

I am reading his bio now. Bu had a tough childhood, lost his dad when he was just a toddler, his mom remarried but under the Mongolian customs, the children stay on their father's side family, he can't follow his mom, he was under the care of the grandparents, they don't speak Mandarin, so they sent him to a boarding/foster house for disadvantaged kids, while Bu was there to receive education, he was discovered by a sports scout, and they brought him out to play tennis. His pro tour was hindered by COVID for 3 years, compare to ZZZ and Shang, it is a slow start for him.

His game is definitely top 50 level barring injuries.

Missed the match since it was on at a ridiculous time in my time zone but nice to see Carlos back in form. Alcaraz-Sinner. Lets go!!! In a 500 no less but still, looking forward to it

It's just the 2nd time Sincaraz will meet in an ATP final (1st was back in 2022 in Umag which Sinner won). Alcaraz leads the H2H 5-4 and has won both their previous meetings this year (semis of RG and IW).

What a high quality fun today.

Sinner has gone past Zverev on backhand department surely. Just smack the heck with the ball and Djokovic like slides.

Alcaraz wins a close fought battle in Beijing to secure his 16th ATP title, 4th this season and 5th at ATP500 level. He is now 6-4 in the H2H with his closest rival, Sinner and 3-0 against him this season. They are now 1-1 in finals played against each other.
He also becomes:

1. The 1st player in ATP history to win an ATP500 title on all 3 surfaces.
2. The 2nd Spanish player to win in Beijing (after Nadal 2005,2017).
3. The 5th player to win 16 ATP titles and become joint 10th in the leaderboard of active players with titles (along with Gasquet, Rublev, Sinner, Wawrinka).

Wow, first to win an ATP 500 on all surfaces. Would have thought someone would have pulled that off somewhere along the way.
