This is the final we need and deserve. Who do you see coming through?

First time finalist Frances 'Big Foe' Tiafoe versus the number 1 player in the world 'Sonic' Jannik Sinner.

Maybe not, I'm pleasantly surprised how he came through the match against Zverev which was his biggest test this tournament

If the good Foe shows up, we should see better in the final if it's injured. I think this match should require more running.

Somehow Sinner always manages to get his titles going through 1 somewhat difficult opponent (in this Cinci Zverev, lol). I expect top level clowning from Foe tonight.

In the past Cinci has seen some surprise winners - Cilic, Coric and Dimi grabbed their one and only masters title at this place. Will Tiafoe place himself onto this list of one-timers? I´m still pretty clueless about the injury issue(s) Sonic is dealing with - in the post-match presser he admitted to feel some pain (caused by what?) but said that it doesn´t worry him too much and that he wouldn´t risk anything in light of the upcoming USO. Anyhow, Sonic vs Tiafoe is the #1 player against the #20 underdog. Sonic in 2 it will be.

Sinner should win with the new USO court conditions but I hope his hip will be 100% by NY

Clearly Sinner is the wise choice. Tiafoe has never bothered him, as he has Alcaraz and other top players on occasion. They both have to be pretty worn out - especially Foe with the back to back long matches. So, Sinner in two; though I hope for something more interesting.

What is the "mug" criteria for players? It's thrown around a ton on TT, almost to the point of parody. If you're clearly a level below another level of player and lose to that higher level, are you a mug? At this point it seems like its used (1) for anyone who isn't a top player and can't beat them; (2) anyone a person doesn't like, even a top player. I mean, we've seen "mug" applied to Alcaraz even after he won Slams.

If Tiafoe can hit a zone with his serving, then he can steal a set. But even there, I'd pick Sinner in 3. But if Sinner hits a zone with his serves, then it's Sinner in straights.

I'm taking Sinner in straight sets.

How do you think he’ll do at the USO? Sinner that is?

Zverev with his serve couldn't win a tie break. Tiafoe is just so bad a player. Let's see if sinner has discomfort but otherwise he should win in 2 without tiebreaks.

This depends a lot on his hip. Sinner wasn’t sliding at times during that Zverev match when he normally would have. He was also hobbling at times too. He didn't look like the Sinner that I've seen before. Can his hip handle 7 best-of-5 matches in a row? I'm not to sure of that.

I originally had him as a slight favorite to bag the title. But I no longer do, after watching him play last night. I have a feeling(I hope that I'm dead-wrong) that he'll hand somebody a walkover win by the QF).

Yah man, Jannik different league, likely winner. Kudos to Frances for making it to the final. Liked his take in this article - acknowledging Jannik's abilities.

".......He’s the favourite in every match he plays, no question about it,” Tiafoe said. “You’ve got to tip your hat to a guy like him.”

Destiny brings brings many to the threshold. Not all can cross it. Good luck to Jannik to get another good win under his belt this year, and to Frances to win his first Masters 1000.

Heh, heh regarding "mug". Whatever the criteria, not mine. These players work hard / do their best. Few are/can be equal to Carlitos/Jannik in the current crop.

He's half-sick, half-broken, half-injured. He's half the player he seemed to be a few months ago. Heck, there may even be some serious turmoil in his staff and his personal life... (where's Naldi? Where's Ferrara? Where's Anna?)

But his fighting spirit is unbreakable and he's about to raise his foxy flag over the great city of SINN-SINN-ATI.

And all that without an ounce of juice in his body, just spaguetti, unlike the rest of the atp

Sinner closes at the net to give himself game point, and then goes behind Foe to seal the deal.

That might have been Foe's big chance, but it's come and gone.
