That's not "wrong". Grigor is just proving how useless the one handed ballerina backhand is in the "modern game" :D
I guess you missed the match in Miami where Grigor used that "one handed ballerina backhand" to absolute school Alcaraz (and everyone else he had played prior)...

There is absolutely one hundred percent a question mark, maybe a little one not a big one, but still a question mark, over Jannik Sinner's big match nerve.
I agree. I like and support Sinner, but it seems super obvious he still gets tight in certain spots. I mean, he even admits as much in interviews (which I think is a mistake, that he lets everyone know), but people seem to just ignore his comments for some reason.

I was joking. A solid one handed backhand is a better offensive weapon than the girly two-hander. Grigor's, however... is not solid at all.

It's ridiculous that he's done at 5:30 in the afternoon, and his opponents for the next round won't even take the court for their QF for two and a half friggin' hours. I know there's a 2 day break before the SF, so it's not too bad, but the same thing WOULD have happened tomorrow, and it'd have been a lot less fair there.

I think they should change the rules, when a player retires the one who lost in the previous round should go through. Now Ruud in the semi without playing

Stan won 3 slams and he never reached n.1 , sinner has 1
Wawrinka never did much outside of slams to accumulate enough points and that was close enough to prime Big 3 era and Murray if you want to throw him in there so it was tough to crack the top 4 nevermind get #1. Not as much competition for Sinner at the top with Djokovic MIA in 2024 and Alcaraz inconsistency. Still, quite an accomplishment for the Italian.

i Really think we should have a Rule that saids if players retires due to injury, and Can't play next round ,, that loser can advance and play in the next round. so Cerundolo should advance and play. Otherwise, fans are Robbed of the match and lose the money for the ticket.

What do you think about this Rule change ?? If you guys approve, i will email it to the ATP player council immediately. Thank you (y) (y)

I think most players have too much pride for that. I know Fritz wasn't interested when this was brought up after he lost to Nadal at Wimbledon. You could have him play some kind of exhibition to get him match time, to get the ticket buyers more tennis, to make it more fair on the guy who doesn't get the bye, but then... What if he gets injured in that exhibition? There's no way to make it work.

With Djokovic's withdrawal, Zverev is now favorite in my book. He has the weapons to win this. If he faces Alcaraz in final, he knows how to win against him.
Before that, deminaur and then Ruud would be greater challenge

The biggest threat in my opinion is ADM. He can drive his opponent to self destruct with his boring game.

This is in fact the most logical thing to do. I think they don’t do it to avoid paying the players.

they should still give the money/points to the retired players, or nobody would retire.
Ok i agree with you. I think Slams should have reserve money for times like this. I will propose the Rule change to players counsel but for Grand Slam events only (y) (y)

Only an injury or some very interesting development of his opponents can make him lose the top spot from now on. I'm ready for a decade of Sinner sitting at #1.
