Wow

Nadal will be out in r1 almost.
Yes for sure this is 90% Nadal’s last RG match! We could see a surprise winner this year - if Alcaraz is healthy I’m tipping him I also could see Zod winning with a victory over Nadal just getting the confidence and exorcising his demons.

I think Nadal is min good for 1 set I think Zod just based on his choking and Nadal aura and fighting spirit even being 2 steps slower will def get 1 if not even 2 so I could def see a 5 set thriller which will be fitting but min it’s 4 sets I recon

Djokovic probably isn't good enough to reach the RG Final or SF this year, so my only hope for the draw is that Nadal gets to play Djokovic early.
Level that H2H at 30-30, and increase Nadal's slam H2H lead to 12-7, plus it gives Nadal the draw of #1 seed.

I don't think it matters, nobody on the current tour is beating Nadal at Roland Garros this year.
You think Hurkacz has a chance at RG LOL, probably won't even win a set if they meet at RG.
And actually Nadal's moving better now than he did in 2020, when Diego trashed him in straight sets at Rome.
Still didn't drop a set at 2020 RG, despite the worst conditions he's ever faced...
I don't think Nadal stands a chance against Djokovic or Hurkacz, although I have to agree Hurkacz is not winning RG.

Sinner looks like he has a great draw.
Not quite so sure. Normally I would say Reeshard (if he gets past Coric) in R2 is not an easy draw. But I guess he's not the same as he was even a couple of years ago when he had a mini resurgence, and also this is Paris.

Still, Richard or Coric in R2, then possibly Wawrinka/Murray in R3 - granted, they're not good anymore, but you just never know with great champions when they have a good day - then Baez or Jarry in R4 who have been in form on clay. Plenty of possible banana skins, if Sinner is not 100% or still rusty, and the draw shapes up that way. Remember he doesn't have a great record yet at RG and doubts could creep in.

It's also not clear that Alcaraz is the easier semi for him. So overall I'd probably say it's neither particularly hard nor particularly easy.

From the ATP article:

"Sinner has won a Tour-leading three titles in 2024, including his first major at the Australian Open. He has not competed since Madrid at the end of April, though, due to injury. The 22-year-old will play French wild card Richard Gasquet or Borna Coric in the second round and is seeded to meet Cameron Norrie in the third round."

It seems they don't give Eubanks a chance in the first round ...

Gasquet is a career choke artist and is damn near 40 years old. That’s a free pass. Wawrinka and Murray are so washed up it’s not even funny. They can’t even win Challengers. I watched Diminaur absolutely embarrass Stan about a month ago. All three of these guys are completely washed up and should not be on the tour anymore.

Not having Nadal on the poll is very disrespectful. Nadal should be on the list. He can lose R1 but doesn't matter come on are you serious?

Nadal won the last RG he has played.

Mate come on isn't it disrespectful? I would have said similiar for Djokovic at AO. Do you know what will be the narrative if Nadal beats Zverev?

Fear might come back then.
Wth

No way you could have said about Djokovic this. Are you on shrooms.

Djokovic was the top odds favorite for ao in 2024. He lost in semis to sinner who has beaten everyone.

@Phenomenal you know that Rafa ar RG gets highest legacy points, more than Djokovic at AO right?

He is +2800 fav for rg.

Djokovic was far less than +200

So if you said the same about Djokovic as someone said about Nadal, it would be bonkers.

It's not disrespect to say there is no hope of Rafa reaching sf in 2024. Not disrespectful at all. Stop finding bad in everything.

And it is insanely disrespectful even for odds Nadal is not lower than all players listed here idk but it should be.

You guys underestimate Rafa quite a lot at RG. Since it is easy to talk and won't happen anything if you guys are wrong so...

Of course he is..

I will estimate him because he lost 3 and 1 to a servebot Hurkacz on clay.

Ruud has Funky Cold Fokina in R2.
Adios, Ruud - unless you up your game and start dictating. Passive, reactive play against Fokina won't do the trick.

Could someone please advise on Alcaraz's form and health? Is he STILL injured? Has he recovered properly and does he have ANY practice on clay?

My point is, they can still have their day, when the old competitive juices start flowing. If course, they may not even make it, but I think as top player I'd probably rather see a top 50-100 player with a low ceiling rather than a former top champion who just might suddenly rediscover a touch of their old form if their opponent is off their game. (Particularly if it's in an early round where the fatigue hasn't yet set in.) Most likely they will not pose a challenge - but I think you count a true champion out at your peril.
