Nice 5 set win from a washed Nishikori, after his opponent forced a decider. I know some will say he is a "MUG", but he had a truly beautiful and entertaining style of tennis to watch.

Nishikori likely being taken out in 5 by Diallo (who qualified for the main draw). I don't think Nishikori has the legs for a 5 setter but promising that he won the first two sets and hopefully he's able to play a full remainder of season. I was so disappointed when his comeback was stunted last year as time is so precious to guys at this stage of their careers.
I am pretty surprised this didn't happen. I guess they call him the deciding set god for a reason.

IG comments saying Atmane hit a spectator during his match with Ofner. Anyone know if there's any truth in this? Video?

yes true - he should have been defaulted
referee / supervisor went to check with the person hit who said was ok so they resumed the game but still
match is still live

This Bergs guy i only watched him against Nadal but he has good weapons both sides and moves well looks like a good player he might climb rankings fast.
He come from qualfirers then beat Tabilo. Has good run so far.

Surprised Jarry lost.

Can someone explain to me how Nishikori entered the RG main draw without a wildcard or qualifiers? He's ranked 350 in the world and didnt play a GS draw since 2021.

Yet thiem was denied a wildcard and had to play qualies despite being more accomplished than Nishikori at RG

I think he is entered main draw with protected rank from his injuries.

not only nishikori but also PCB entered maindraw either.

Did he launch a ball or..? I mean if he did I don't think it matters if they say all's good carry on, there has to be 1 universal rule or it becomes too open to dispute.

He's in with a protected ranking of 48. During his comeback last year he played challengers predominantly other than 2 ATP tournaments. This year he played Miami with a wildcard (he's been based in Florida for years) and now he's used his PR for RG. I think he's been pretty smart about when he uses his PR and he will likely play more challengers and capitalise on WCs. He beat a qualifier in 5 whereas Thiem didn't even qualify (that's not a knock). I personally believe Thiem should have got a WC given his 2 finals at RG and how he pushed the big 3.

not a surprise for Jarry
good riddance to him and his doping coach Chela (fined for roids at the time)

Sinner actually doing a little exho out there, probably feeling a little relaxed considering what he is seeing from Chris. This could be very quick.

You can tell Sinner is being a little extra cautious on certain movements, which is the absolute right thing to do.
