For those of you in America (or on the East Coast?), are you watching the NBC broadcast or Tennis Channel broadcast?
NBC. McEnroe is not the best commentator, but he's better than Davenport.

IF there was ever a head case it was Zvonareva :D
If feel sorry for Zvonareva though. She sat in the stands to support Andreeva, and then Andreeva pulled out of their quarterfinals doubles match to concentrate on this match.

Andreeva clearly not ready yet. She has lead in her legs too. Barely able to move. Paolini is the deserving winner today.

And Paolini finishes it off with a breadstick. Well, Andreeva was probably hungry for some Italian food. Nice win. Looked good. Will probably get crushed by Iga on Saturday.

Wow. Paolini will go against Swiatek in the final. I'm going to steal a page out of the book of @Kralingen and say that the only suspense is whether or not Paolini can win more than 3 games vs Swiatek.

Paolini's first serve struggles to top 100 while her 2nd seldom breaks 75. Swiatek is going to break that serve 75-80% of the time. Swiatek has added 9 mph to her own serves since the 2023 FO. And today, she served one 116 out wide. This is going to be ugly, folks. This feels like a 6-1, 6-0 scoreline coming up.

Too bad we didn't have an epic a la Muchova vs Sabalenka this year. Oh well, the final is still to be played but it is pretty safe to predict a routine win for Iga.
Can't wait for the grass tournaments, the field is very unpredictable there. Hoping that Ryba won't peak at a 500 only to flop to Bouzkova or some other mug in Wimbledon lol.

Kind of like this ? 1998 French Open final, Steffi Graf won the match 6-0,6-0 against Natalia Zvereva

In 1st and 3rd set against NO, Iga was hitting 185-192kph (115-119mph) serves. Today was not her best serving day.
Also, she was very passive with her angle shots. Didn't see a single out wide b/h winner.

Very impressive scoreline from Paolini win against Mirra. Only watched the match here and there. But, from what I saw Mirra just couldn't get into a rhythm, was missing a lot of balls that she wouldn't normally miss(?). Having said that, Paolini was hitting a lot of high loopy balls that's not easy to attack with Mirra having more problems handling those than Paolini.

When the same high loopy balls came to Paolini, she either neutralized them easily or put it away with amazing (yes, AMAZING) easiness. She hit many, many put away balls above shoulder (and above head). Just remarkable technique, really.

Cannot conclude whether Mirra was just not playing well today or it was caused by Paolini's game. Didn't watch enough of the match today, unfortunately.

It will be a statistically low chance for Paolini to beat Iga considering she is 0-2 against Iga with all straight set lost and max games earned of 0, 1, 2, 3.

Andreeva was missing less today than against Sabalenka.

Kader Nouni should officiate in this case after his famous "Dzień dobry ladies and that's all" earlier this year in Świątek v Wozniacki match.

Incredibile.

The Little Engine that Could continues to laugh in the face of all limits and expectations. Arguably one of the most astonishing and unexpected improvements in tennis history.

THE JAS AGE
IS IN FULL SWING!

I like Mira, but she really needs to sort her head out if she wants to take a step forward. Yes, she is young, but certain traits can stick with you...

Siegemund/Roger-Vasselin...
Wow, on the 80th anniversary of D-day, the day of days, one of the greatest days in human history, we have a German and a Frenchman pairing up to win an event in France. Seems like a sign of progress, but the French have always been suspiciously willing to cozy up to the Germans since then...

That is not not new by any stretch of the imagination. The Williams sisters era (when both made their mark at the majors early on) was undeniably worse (not to mention what Serena was subjected to throughout her entire career), and the reasons for people hating them were among the most despicable, socially dangerous of all.
I wouldn't say "throughout," as the end of her career was a total love fest. Heck, Venus is still playing, and gets love from every direction possible. There was a turning point, and from then on things swung dramatically in the other direction. Doesn't make the early stuff OK, but let's not pretend they didn't become royalty by the end.

I said that wta is weak , but I was called names
Coco winning **** untl she fixes her serve and forehand. I said before. It is ridicolous she is n2 .Saba choked her final in New york , thats head case for a change
Welcome to the club. You are free to state the glaringly obvious, but bring a helmet...

Based on career accomplishments? Sure, maybe. Not based on her play.
Yeah, in a few years we will look back on this and thing it was quite weak indeed.

But it can happen. Heck, two years ago Zidansek was in the semis! Just look at her now (I'm a bit of a fan, so I've been watching the excruciating backwards slide...)

Paolini is 28 but looks like she's 18. Andreeva looks like a Modigliani painting.
Woahhhhh, wasn't expecting someone to bring that sort of culture in here! Love it though. Excellent, nearly perfect observation.

It was really worth for Mirra it to walk away from yesterday‘s doubles match. Just imagine how Zvonareva feels.
It seems clear that the doubles would probably have helped her, as it would have distracted her from the pressure of this match. You can tell that she has spent every single second thinking about this match since beating Sabalenka.

LOL, Sabinelisickifans at it again.

I don't know what Coco should do with her forehand. It's obviously not stopping her from being a Top 5/10 player and overall having a good career. But it very well might keep her from winning any more Slams. If she was constantly being rushed, that would be one thing. But, a lot of those errors were from in-position, waiting for the ball. It's such a weird crossroads for a player who is ranked so high. Does she continue to double down with the belief that she can hit her current forehand better on a more consistent basis (she certainly does have better days with it) or does she try to "fix" it which is thrown around a lot here. Of course, it would be great if she had an improved forehand, especially against top players. But is it worth the risk of trying to reconstruct it and it being worse than it already is, which, again, has gotten her pretty far in the game.

Davenport: “she wants to be a champion.”

Gosh, really? My life and career is playing this sport. I don’t want to be a champ. I just want to be a mug. Really, I’ll pass.

The absolutely stupid and asinine things this woman says….
