This will be the 5th meeting between these two, with Alcaraz leading the H2H by 3-1. Although, their last meeting in Shanghai last year went the way of the Bulgarian as he beat the Spanish youngster 6-4 in the 3rd set to claim his first top-3 victory in over 4 years.

Alcaraz dispatched Lorenzo Musetti in previous round 63 63, while Dimitrov came through (yet another) deciding tiebreak battle against Hurkacz.

Grigor has been very consistent as of late, and is on the verge of cracking top10 for the first time since 2018; do you think he can pull off the upset once more? Or will Carlos continue his momentum fron Indian Wells triumph & march into yet another SF at miami?

Vote and discuss.

Love to watch Dimitrov, thrilled at his recent rise, he has a chance but has to play 100% great while Alcaraz can win playing 85%. Still, Dimitrov somehow sends to have vanquished his under-pressure yips, especially on serve. Makes one wonder at what might have been. (Although he’s pretty high on the all-time winnings list as is. )

Dimi, just like Monfils (and many others), has the complex of playing vs top player. He can win first set, and be a break up in the second, but will find a way to lose.

Maybe you can say that vs someone like Rublev or Tsitsipas. But not Carlito. If Dimitrov loses, he would be beaten by a superior player. Not self explosion .

Alcaraz needs to watch out for Dimi's junkballing though, and not let him dictate the play with the forehand as he did in Shanghai.
I'm feeling pretty confident myself. Alcaraz hasn't really let anyone dictate with the forehand these last three weeks and handled Musetti's junkballing quite well in his last match. Dimitrov's his own man, of course, and nothing's guaranteed, but if Alcaraz plays the way he has been, I don't see too many options for Grigor here.

I've always been a Dimi guy and am now a Cariltoholic so I'm torn but, objectively, Dimi stands no chance against Alcaraz in current form. I'd like to see a 3 setter at least.

I'm thrilled by Dimitrov's recent run of good, consistent form, but he'll find a way to lose as he usually does against top players.

If Sinner is in the final, he will. A second masters title for Sinner if he makes the final.
Please talk about Sinner in the thread below & not here.

I'm rooting for Alcaraz too, and hope that he plays with his brain more than the balls.

Grigor started how he had to start, with the right tactic and fine execution, Carlos has to settle into the match, lets see if he can come back in this set

Dinitrov has always been a mystery. The guys hardcourt has been slam level winning talent at times. Yet he’s never done a dang thing all these years later. He should have a gotten a good coach a long time ago he may have a few slams to his name now
