Federer, at Alcaraz's age, was losing to players like Hicham Arazi at Roland Garros.
It seems that they have already forgotten those pyrrhic times of their idol.
I don't understand, how were they "pyrrhic" times? And what exactly would that mean?

Anyway, I didn't follow tennis at that time, but I don't think there can be any disagreement about the fact that Fed was a late bloomer compared to Alcaraz.

Masterclass from Dimitrov. He tore up the Alky second serve – and that’s not easy with a one-hander. He was looking like Federer out there, taking the ball so early.

Very disappointing from Alcaraz, though. Not just the loss but the manner of the loss. Felt very reminiscent of all those hard court losses in recent months where he was just smothered by a bigger-serving, bigger-hitting opponent. He was on his heels the whole match. I didn’t really expect him to win the double to begin with, but I was hoping he’d found a way to at least break that pattern of losing.

I 100% agree. Very disappointing, also expected more solutions to the same patterns of losing on these hcs, felt exactly like these losses in recent months.

Handsome dude pretty game, charisma . If he would have lived up to his real abilities he could have taken the mantle over the big 3 and kept the game very popular. If nothing else than for the chicks

Beautiful match by Dimitrov. Regrouped very well after Alcaraz raised his level at 30-40 1-4 in the 2nd set.
Zverev to win Miami now haha

It's time to rest for Alcaraz and prepare for the assault on the clay tour.
:)

Dimitrov was superb but Alcaraz looks to me as if he is already practicing for clay, given his return position the past two weeks and his more spin oriented shots.
For younger viewers being wowed by Dimitrov, that was how Federer played week in week out for about 6 straight years 2003-2009.
If , massive if this, Grigor can play like that at Wimbledon he is worth a punt to win it. However, he is mentally so suspect i cannot see it happening sadly. Great guy though.

Zverev to win Miami now

Fantastic stuff from Griglorious Dimi to expose the current #2 ranked player as the useless little tennis clown he really is. Besides, these stuffed dummies in the clowns box are an incredibly hard watch.
