It's getting pathetic, Medvedev somehow makes it to the semis and finals with his terrible serve but can't do anything with the best players.

Sadly Meddy is becoming a punching back for the likes of Alcaraz and Sinner now.

Craftiness variation and other stuff means absolutely nothing.

If you can hit powerful and close to baseline consistently, you win. It's as simple as that.

And somehow you chose to ignore Murray’s world class defense and better return.

You say those things because nowadays few top players can use these types of pattern changeup properly.

It was not sufficient because he played against prime Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. It would have been sufficient if he played old Djokovic, Medvedev and Rublev.

Excuses.

Murray being a passive player is what made him one of the worst finalists in slams. And got to his paltry 3-8 slam record.

Medvedev is on the same path with 1-4 slam record.

To win you don't need craftiness. It's amazing if you have it. But consistent powerful baseline game is sufficient. and perhaps more important than crafty less powerful game.
