Med prefers light balls he’s not a power playerThey said the balls were heavier, I think. Med should be happy.

Fritz had a great year. That’s 6.5 players out of 10 who did well counting Djokovic as half like you didI think De Minaur had a good year relative to his abilities, Dimitrov also but outside of those two and Zverev it's been a rough year for everybody in the top 10 outside of Sinnerazovic and even Djokovic had a rough year relative to his usual standard. Tennis is in a big time transition phase, somebody needs to step up outside of Sinneraz.
Yah man, DM seems to be flagging at present. Many will need a reset - not just because they are tired, but the improved younger players seem keen and ready to compete better.Popyrin is no slouch but I don't think anybody outside of Rune perhaps needs a reset after this season more than Medvedev.
Dude hasn't cleared the field as yet, but seems focused, taking DM out. Maybe your call will come to pass!............Maybe Popyrin will have another deep run.
Classic Bublik meltdown against Holger. Sometimes, he just doesn't care.
I don't know, is it perhaps more healthy to let it all out as opposed to bottling it all up inside, and then having it overcome you in certain moments (aka choking)?Moutet is such a psycho it’s unreal …
Um, why should they look to him as an example? There are like 150 other guys to emulate. Their parents can tell them to look elsewhere.Disgusting behaviour. Such a bad example for young players
I assume you are being sarcastic, but as I was watching the match, I was genuinely thinking: how can anyone NOT be a Moutet fan? The guy is just pure intrigue.Moutet is such an endearing character lol
Wait, what? You would rather see a bunch of aces and unreturned serves than long rallies? Who are you???He may have servebot numbers but I think his game is a lot of fun to watch. It's also refreshing not to see rallies that go on forever.
He's got mad skills.Moutet just broke a racket in half using his leg as a support point. I've never seen that before.
I'm not sure which word I should use to describe Fritz' hair.
I'm tempted to make a poll, please submit your suggestions beyond the following:
If I actually get enough suggestions, I will post a thread in GPPD with a poll.
- Distressing
- Ignominious
- As unto a drowned schnauzer
I will not accept "on the fritz".
Lucky TB from draper. Hit the flukiest series of shots imaginable. Fritz whacks a sitter straight at his FH which he passes on the line. Then he catches the line about 3 times on haymaker shots. Very unfortunate for Fritz.
Loving this tournament. Can Carlitos do what he’s supposed to with Djokovic and Sinner out, or is an upset coming? Surprises in tennis are something I could definitely get into.

I agree that he plays some interesting and unorthodox tennis, like several other French players.I don't know, is it perhaps more healthy to let it all out as opposed to bottling it all up inside, and then having it overcome you in certain moments (aka choking)?
He knows what he is doing, and if anything he is more of a mad genius. Tennis is just too boring for him sometimes.

But as I said above, everyone deals with the stress of the sport differently.

First and foremost, his tennis is very good and super interesting to watch. His style is quite unique right now, and so always entertaining. His match against Shelton was by far the most interesting one of the early rounds, in my opinion.
And yes, some people do find the genuine and troubled characters to be endearing. The guy is putting it all out there for the world to see, and I really admire that.

His team looked like they had a great time, but were even more focused on getting out of there to have a nice meal and some drinks. They were in Paris, after all.A meltdown from Bubbles is proof this was one of the few times he DOES care. Must have wanted to get some good presents this year.
Djokovic often does it. Seen Stan do it as well. He's got mad skills.
I believe Cazaux has a winning H2H against Rune, " angstgegner " Could be very interesting matchMan, what a match by lucky loser Cazaux, perhaps inspired by the home crowd, perhaps by this second chance he was given
( perhaps both and more!) beat Shelton in straights. A well contested 2nd set, but AC prevailed - excellent win for the kid, setting up a match with Rune.
Potentially interesting matches tomorrow, hope I can watch some of them.
Really? Zverev Fils is really interesting. And I'm also looking forward to ADM vs Draper, Cazaux vs Rune and Humbert vs Alcaraz. We went from some good matchups to so-so 3rd round.
Top picks -
Zverev v Fils
Khachanov v Popyrin
Hoping Ugo can surprise with at least a good set?
Yes, let's hope for some drama.Last Zverev match against Fils was quite hostile. Let’s see if they buried the hatchet. As far as I can tell, Fils still exhibiting his arrogance on the court, plus the crowd support, this might end up badly.
Just saw that result and was wondering if anyone saw how GMP lost a set 1-6 against Khachanov?
I'm wondering particularly because I read that some players say these courts are super quick.
Disgusting break from Popryin. Taps everything back then passes at the net.
The upsets have been massive at this tourney so far. Summing up, here are some top-ranked players that lost.
#11 Tommy Paul in R64
#7 Ruud in R32
#14 Tiafoe in R64
#6 Rublev in R32
#16 Musetti in R64
#12 Hurkacz in R64
#5 Fritz in R32
#4 Medvedev in R32
I think it’s not the speed itself but the low bounce. It’s better for his backhand.Tsitsipas comes through. Will face Fils or Zverev.
It's funny, people say Tsitsipas can't play on fast courts, but that just seems silly given his success on indoor courts.
Hopefully, he will play his pigeon Z.Tsitsipas comes through. Will face Fils or Zverev.

Agree. But if those two play, Stef will most likely lose.I think Fils vs Tsitsipas would be a great match. Loud crowd, forehand flurries, maybe some volleys. They just played in Basel, so both should have a good reading on the other's game.
