A brutal game
Story of his lifeLifeline for Rune
Zverev forgot how to play tennis serving for the match (he went pushing)
…and ending the year as number two. Sad day for ABZ.It will be very hard now to stop Zverev from winning Paris.
Heh, heh, you called it previously too, I think. I agree that he's looking more single minded than he sometimes has done. However, I'll believe the hoisting of the trophy when I see it, as it will be everything to play for in the final. Hope Khachavov can get through too.It will be very hard now to stop Zverev from winning Paris.
You’re just saying that because of the long list of prestigious winners of this tournament.Zverev with his asterisk title with no sinner and djoker around. When the two best players on tour are missing titles essentially mean nothing
He will end the year as world number 2 and well deserved. This can be his best ever year if he wins ATP finals + Paris + RomeWow. Zverev just leap-frogged Alcaraz in the live rankings(Race to Turin).
After today's win, it sits like this:
Sinner 10330
Zverev 6965(7315 if he wins the final)
Alcaraz 6810
Med 4830
Fritz 4300
If Zverev bags the title, then he'll be up by 505 points.
Holger has become net rusher and his baseline game doesn't hold up vs top players on medium courts no matter what we think of him as a player.Heh, heh, you called previously too, I think. Holger has played better too, seeming more confident. Good to see, hope he continues to improve.
That list isn't bad when Djokovic has won it 7 times, Safin won it 3 times, both Sampras and Agassi have won it two times each, add in Edberg, Becker, Federer, Murray, throw in Nalbandian, Davydenko and Ferrer, and it isn't a weak list by any stretch of the imagination. Too many people only see the Sock, Khach wins, this title has been mostly won by elite players. You’re just saying that because of the long list of prestigious winners of this tournament.
And Medvedev/Zverev top players of this genearations (hopefully )That list isn't bad when Djokovic has won it 7 times, Safin won it 3 times, both Sampras and Agassi have won it two times each, add it Edberg, Becker, Federer, Murray, throw in Nalbandian, Davydenko and Ferrer, and it isn't a weak list by any stretch of the imagination. I admit I was thinking of Sock. Yep. Tsonga I believe also won and Berdych. It's not exactly weak. Top players have mostly won the title in Paris, and any list has has the names Djokovic, Federer, Sampras, Agassi, Edberg, Becker, Safin, Murray on it, can never be considered weak. And Medvedev/Zverev top players of this genearations (hopefully )
The most iconic win of all time in Paris it seems....you're not the only one who sees that. LOLI admit I was thinking of Sock.
But Kach has a read on it it seems now ...I'll say it again. The Lefty ad court serve of Ugo is a crime.
Tension wise yeah. But lots of UFE, especially from UgoGood match so far. Only the two points from the breaker deciding the set.
Yeah should have written “entertaining“Tension wise yeah. But lots of UFE, especially from Ugo
Id say closely followed by Ferrer and kachanov. And also biggest win for runeThe most iconic win of all time in Paris it seems....you're not the only one who sees that. LOL
You mean along the tournamentAwful line calling all along the match.
He has played 3 tournaments up to the final 4 in three weeks. Thats a lot of tennisKhachanov‘s movement looking limited now. Would be surprised if Humbert is not winning this
That was the most obnoxious performance I have ever seen from Humbert. I only watched the last 3 games admittedly, so did anything happen between them to cause this kind of behaviour?
Inciting the crowd after every point and the fist pumps and all the shenanigans. What happened in the last 3 games?
Those 2 prior tournaments gave him the form to play so well here, but also ground him down... It's a shame to see but hopefully he will take the form into next year.He has played 3 tournaments up to the final 4 in three weeks. Thats a lot of tennis
I think he was high on adrenalineUgo seemed so clueless at the net. Clearly Karen had nothing left and Ugo still was going after every shot / celebrating when Karen couldn’t move. I like Ugo’s game but cmon any time your opponent is somewhat injured you can’t feel that good about the win
Sure but seems like he injured himself at around 3:3, from there he couldn‘t move well anymoreHe has played 3 tournaments up to the final 4 in three weeks. Thats a lot of tennis
Yeah I think so as wellThose 2 prior tournaments gave him the form to play so well here, but also ground him down... It's a shame to see but hopefully he will take the form into next year.
Karen seemed to think Ugo was not particularly empathetic to his physical struggles, that what I gauged from the net encounter.
Yes, Khach was clearly injured at 2:2, he called a trainer in the 3:2 changeover. He was done.Sure but seems like he injured himself at around 3:3, from there he couldn‘t move well anymore
