Including Nadal, amazing.Zverev will have a 26 match winning streak against lefties after today![]()
He does have a solid backhand.Zverev will have a 26 match winning streak against lefties after today![]()
That was a terrible one.Z has to improve volleys, definitely.
TBH there is no top quality lefty around anymore.Zverev will have a 26 match winning streak against lefties after today![]()
The bigger problem is his Diabetes. That why he struggles more in best of 5 and longer matches. It really unfortunate because he’s very talented.Zverev really needs to get over his slam hurdle. He's too good not to win one, He's just as good as Sinner/Alcaraz tennis wise but he just lacks the mental edge it seems. This win will be great for him, another masters to his tally!
Almost. Is he going to choke while serving for the match again? Luckily he has an insurance break.
F*** off, French crowd. So tired of this.
I'm glad they can't celebrate a home winner.
Z chokes on choking, and captures his 7th career M1000.Now it's the right time for Z to blow it.
Haven't you watched a Davis Cup tie in South America? In Europe we have too many football fans
Zverev just less likely to be upset than Alcaraz. Alcaraz likes to win with style. Zverev doesn't really seem to care how he does it - and his matches are often fairly ugly as a result - but he consistently crosses the finish line that way.Good example how matchups can work:
Humbert can rob time from Alcaraz on a fast indoor court by taking the balls early and flattening them.
Zverev can soak up the same pressure of Humbert even on slick surfaces, waiting to draw a bad flat ball.
Alcaraz can outplay an often passive Zverev by using his great variety with sublime skill by using space and time.
Thiem did take out Medvedev and himself before the final, didn't he?This is how Zod would win a slam. Dangerous opponents taken out by others and first time finalist and good match up.
Zverev is a tour veteran at this point, playing his 9th full season (8th if we discount 2022)Zverev just less likely to be upset than Alcaraz. Alcaraz likes to win with style. I wouldn’t count players like Thiem. I should have been more specific. First time surprise finalist. Wait, Thiem had been in some RZ finals lol.Thiem did take out Medvedev and himself before the final, didn't he?
What I meant was that he had the title literally 3 good service holds away in set 3 sfter going 2 sets & 3-2 up on serve.I wouldn’t count players like Thiem. I should have been more specific. First time surprise finalist. Wait, Thiem had been in some RZ finals lol.

Yah man, the anticipated result, although before the match, I thought it might be better contested. However, watching Sasha play - it was a superb performance from him-he took Ugo's legs away, leaving little opportunity for UH to get any momentum/leverage. It must seem very rewarding to capture the number 2 ranking and win his 2nd M1000 this year. Sasha remained committed & worked hard after his injury at the FO 2022, and despite some wtf losses this year, has looked better and better. My take away from this win is how composed he has looked. It seems as though some ghosts have been laid to rest. It could be a significant turning point in which case the WTF / 2025 should be interesting.Great win for Sascha. Second masters for the year.
Meme No.

I guess it is even worseHaven't you watched a Davis Cup tie in South America?
Zverev deserves a slam now.Zverev wins his 23rd ATP title, 2nd title of the season and 2nd Masters 1000 title of the season. He becomes:
1. The last player to win the Paris Masters title at the Accor Arena in Bercy (from 2025 the event moves to La Défence Arena in Nanterre).
2. The 2nd German player to win the Paris Masters title (after Becker in 1992).
3. The 2nd player to win multiple Masters 1000 titles this season (also won Rome) after Sinner.
4. Joint 8th on 7 titles (with Chang) in the leaderboard of players with Masters 1000 titles.
5. 3rd, with 7 titles, in the leaderboard of active players with Masters 1000 titles (after Djokovic and Nadal).
6. The 3rd active player to achieve double digit Big Titles (10) after Djokovic and Nadal.
No doubt. Not saying it'll be permanent, but that consistency just isn't there for Alcaraz at the moment.Zverev is a tour veteran at this point, playing his 9th full season (8th if we discount 2022)
Alcaraz is playing his 3rd full season.
True, but I wasn't going for an essay. This is a bit reductive to say the least and at best not mutually exclusive...
Total dominance by Sascha in the 9+ rallies, 10 vs. 3! Won 24 against 11 in the 5+ ones, drawing overall 25 unforced errors while making just 9. Was a great game plan against Sinner too once, shame that Zverev can mostly execute just that one...
