Missed today's match, scoreline suggests it was hugely positive but Norrie seems to be declining fast ranking wise.
Its great to see Rafa healthy though, thats so uplifiting as all he wants is a run at playing pain free. He wants to enjoy being out there with the guys on and off court. People forget they are actually all work colleagues. Like all of us, they will like hanging out with some

Who is this Navone ? never heard of him. is this cakewalk for rafa or danger match ?
This is his first year playing at the ATP level. His serve is a nothinburger, but his groundstrokes are solid. Made the finals at Rio and Bucharest earlier this year and then beat PCB before losing his second match to Machac at the French Open. I'll be interested to see how aggressive Nadal tries to be with his return of serve to get on top of those points.

if Rafa gets by this guy, there is nobody in the draw.. this is now RAFA's tournament to win as long as he's healthy. This is as ideal of prep as rafa can have before the Paris olympics.....:)

also ,, can Rafa win the US open and french open 2025 and surpass Novak in GS record ?

It’ll be a tough battle against the best returner in the world. RAFA will have to step up his game in order to advance. Today was a good showing, hopefully he can maintain a high level match to match which only gets tougher with age. I think he’ll need to win in straight sets.
I missed the part where Djokovic was selected as the replacement of Navone.

Navone has developed quite nicely—he made Nagal look like a Juniors player.

Navone is 2nd in return points won%, 3rd in return points in play won % and first in break%. Even if you were to adjust for the fact that he plays most of his tournaments on clay, he is still a very, very good return and a very good baseliner. This will be a very good test for Rafito.

Nadal is putting a little too much air under the ball, maybe has not adjusted to new conditions, broken again.

Very disappointing so far, especially the backhand. Also, Navone is very very solid from the back. No way for Rafa to win this unless he improves. If you are gonna miss this many backhands you may as well go for it.

Nadal is struggling with that BHDTL from Navone. It is causing him a lot of issues.

Working hard though.

Navone is decent, but the old man is making him look better than he is.

Two set points and a double break down and Navone can’t close it. This is not even a good Nadal level rn. We call that a “reputation break”
