Maria Sakkari down a set pretty quickly......shocked.....just shocked I tell ya.......

Edit - now I'm seeing as she retired.....tough last couple of years for her in the GS events.

Manda looked totally cooked and was hitting one handed backhands and stuff, and now she's won 3 games in a row to be right back in the third...

Erika has really beefed up her game the past year! It's great to see.
She may have also put on a few pounds but it's difficult to see with her stick figure.

She's playing with a lot more confidence, crushing her shots and her serve has also
been greatly improved.

She'll never be able to eclipse her sister but there's still a lot more room to her upside.
You go girl! :)

Badosa giving a beatdown. Saw her hit an absolute rocket of a forehand earlier in the first set.

Not getting too much resistance from Golubic though. Helps when Badosa can just tee off on 70-80mph serves.

She is built like a house. Always good when she does well.

She is indeed. I saw her up close in qualies @ Toronto Masters this past Aug. She reminds me of a larger Safina.

Damn, Siniakova is so cute. Too bad she'll probably go down in straight sets
Shirley there will be doubles for Katerina. She did make the Final in the Land, The Mistake by The Lake, Burning River Beer

What do you get when you take Djokovic, cut him up in pieces, stir him up, add some sauce, bake him and fry him?
You get a 16 year old American woman named Jovic who could bounce veteran Linette from the U.S. Open
if she doesn't quickly get her act together!

Not surprised by the Jovic result, a very successful junior, I caught some of her Wimbledon Junior SF where she faced Aussie Jones, although she lost that match she showed insane grit. Also won the junior doubles title at both Wimbledon and the Aus Open this year.

And no disrespect to Linette but she's woeful at the slams outside the one SF she's never gone past the 3R in 36 other main draw attempts.

Hope Vika and Sloane can finish their opponents off in their 3rd sets. Both up a break.

Should they win they'll face off in the 2R.

2017 champ vs the 2020, 2013 & 2012 runner up. That will be fun.

Jovic is playing doubles and mixed doubles too.

Sloane led 6-0 4-1 double break.

Loses 6 of the next 7 games to lose the 2nd set 5-7.

In this 3rd set she led 4-2, served for the match just before up 5-4 but now Burel holds serve and she's in front 6-5. First time she's been in front this entire match. If she breaks here she wins it.

Just dreadful by Sloane, terrible unforced error and Burel has double match points.

Wow, almost tanked that last point with another hideous error and Burel wins.

Pathetic by Sloane.

down 1-5. whoa

I watched a bit in the morning, Zheng was awful from the start and only held the serve once, Anisimova was serving for the first set at 5:1, and it surely looked like a breadstick set but the scoreboard was 6:4, Zheng must have a massive comeback after that.

Amanda's level dropped pretty dramatically. Fitness issue maybe.

She is just a millionaire playing part time tennis. She mentioned long ago that she wants to have a life and play tennis in the same time. I don’t blame her to be honest. I would have probably done the same.
Has now lost 11 of her last 13 matches. I hope this doesn't sound offensive to say and perhaps she doesn't want kids, but she's 31 and been married for over 2.5 years now. Perhaps now is the time (if she wants) to take time off tour and have a kid like many have done. If she wants she can still comeback. Svitolina, Woz, Kerber, Townsend, Strycova and Osaka just a few of the last few years to have a kid and comeback. Many more have simply retired and had the kid/s like Barty, Bertens and Konta.

I feel i've seen Sloane speak about wanting kids and might as well do it now cause her form sucks. Otherwise could be like Azarenka who wins the Sunshine double and looks set to dominate the tour and then got pregnant with Leo! :X3:
