Seriously, what is wrong with the current American players? Is it due to the lack of naturally gifted athletes or just a big academic failure?
I blame the USTA. They put too many gates and obstacles in place for people to play tennis. It's inane. And the USOpen is a money making venture for them, not a way to heighten the profile of tennis in America.

Here's an example of an obstacle. In order for someone to play in an 18+ tournament, you have to be turning 19 that year. That means if you were born in January, you cannot play an 18+ tournament until the month you are turning 19. WTF is that? Why would you make that the guideline? Morons that are keeping tennis a country club sport in the US.

Hubie misses SP then loses his serve to a weaponless pusher the game after. Added to clown list:

Rune
Tsitsipas
Tabillo
Shapovalov
Kachanov
Hurcasz

List of seeds who have embarrassed themselves. Possibly the worst Slam in living memory so far for quality, but has stiff competition from most of 2022/2023.

Sinner is like 1/9 behind his second serve so far.

Warming up and giving Alex a chance too. Quite impressive how Jannik stepped it up again.

Once again only breadcrumbs for the opponent after the first set.

Americans have a hard time retuning well. on the other hand two Italians, Jannik and Matteo have been leading the service hold percentage...

Michelson is introduced to the Hall of Pain.

Sinner looks unstoppable.
Yeah he looked like that at Wimby too…until Mad lad of all ppl took him down. I am optimistic of his chances, one match at a time…week 2 will be a test. Novak doesn’t seem like he will go far, so my hopes are on Sinner.

This is his chance to silence them all. What a tough draw. Medvedev, Alcaraz, Djokovic.

If you see he has to go through US Open 2021 champ, then US Open 2022 champ and finally US Open 2023 champ.

The year he is having, its possible, its much more than possible.

Hubie, we hardly knew ye! His slam results have steadily declined over the course of 2024 -- must be disappointing to him.

He still has the honor of being half of the most wonderfully named tennis matchup in modern times:
Hubert Hurkacz vs. Ugo Humbert

Could just as easily be Ugo Hurkacz vs. Hubert Humbert, or perhaps Humbert Hurkacz vs. Ugo Hubert.

I can't believe it but Sinner is moving forward after this whole scandal, it's immoral...Very Bad...!!!

If Kyrgios or Zverev were in the same situation they would have been demolished long ago....

But Jannick is a nice guy, where would he take doping... it's impossible... After the whole scandal with Italian athletes I don't fully believe in his innocence...!!!

You know what, many fed fans and Nadal fans were worried at ao 23 that if djokovic won he will take that win as a sort of revenge vs the Australia open. He did win. He got vindicated.

If sinner wins usopen it would be same. And the non sinner fans will cry.

A lot

Goffin keeps getting a break up on the trickster troll and all three times it has happened he has been broken back

Say the same to Halep and Majchrzak...

If Sinner wasn't so high and there was no money from him, he would have been suspended too...

But his position as a leader and the hierarchy in tennis meant that he wasn't suspended, but there are equals and more equals...

I don't believe this story Jannick, since many Italian athletes are involved in closetbol...

Sebbie and Hubie constitute falling apart??? Neither has ever made it past round 2 of this tournament.
Well exactly, which shows he had a great draw to the SF either way. I knew Hurkacz wasn't making the QF since he's not 100%.

Bergs solid as a rock on serve and takes first from Cobolli. Annoying. Knew the day was going to easy for the Italians (that matter).
