The average ranking of the semifinalists is 14.5 despite having the #1 in it. Anybody happen to know what the record lowest average is for ATP slams?
You bettah believe it!why is there a casper commercial
I did.Shoulda saw Phil,![]()
No.Wait, is that second line about Alcaraz? Because you realize humor is wildly subjective, and while some people interpret arrogance as confidence (and vice versa), Alcaraz fits that description very well.
Um, humor is still subjective within a culture. Just because you don't get the concept, doesn't make it invalid. There seem to be many things you don't get.No.
Humour tends to be cultural.
Where are you from?
Not sure that sticking the middle finger during a trophy ceremony would be classed as funny, no matter the culture tbh. Tiafoe is a classless goon and I don’t like him which is my prerogative

And sure, Tiafoe's middle finger was a faux pas. He does get a little carried away sometimes. But that's actually part of the charm. He didn't grow up playing in a country club. (Well, maybe he did, but not as a member). He doesn't come from a sophisticated background, and being thrown onto the tour at a young age didn't seem to help ground him at all. He's human and he's vulnerable. Again, if you can't see that, that's on you.
If your preference is for a "mamma's boy" from a podunk corner of Spain, who had his family keeping him cozy, alongside a father figure like coach, from a young age, that's fine. But the goofy, false humility act doesn't fool everyone either.

Needing a Tiafoe win tonight
Go gingers, hater! You'll be missing Imhotep when ginger robot stars pilling up HC slams lol
I wouldn’t go that far! LolYou'll be missing Imhotep when ginger robot stars pilling up HC slams lol
Sinner made the finalDjokovic Sinner final I am envisioning.
Sinner would be lucky to even get to 25% of Djokovic's total haul. You'll be missing Imhotep when ginger robot stars pilling up HC slams lol
Sure did. Tiafoe really gets a disproportionate amount of hate. I get the guy isn't for everyone, but people freaking out about him have their own issues to deal with. You stuck for Foe and then slight Alcaraz? Huh.
Says who? I find a ton of the Alcaraz schtick to be cringe worthy. The ear cupping. The chest puffing. The talking about his "uevos" (spelling). The faux humility...Alcaraz does all the fun things Tiafoe does, but doesn't do any of the cringe or disrespectful things that Tiafoe does
Just gonna quote myself here...I was at the Draper vs Rublev match at last year's USO, where Draper got bounced pretty easily by Bweah. Drapper is a big dude, and he often looks pretty slow and lumbering compared to most other players.
So while Draper was hanging in with Rublev during some rallies, and managing to win some points by pulling the trigger on a down the line backhand and things like that, overall Andre was just running and pummeling him into the ground. And we know Sinner is like a superior version of Rublev, so I would expect Draper to get worn out trying to hit with Sinner, and have a harder time trying to go on the offensive off of Sinner's incoming pace.

As for Alcaraz, he's attracting all those losers that root for a super strong player/team in order to compensate for their own insecurities. So yeah...

There’s a lot of bitterness in your post. Insulting Alcaraz and indirectly me is your way of defending Frances?Um, humor is still subjective within a culture. Just because you don't get the concept, doesn't make it invalid. There seem to be many things you don't get.

I'm betting Sinner doesn't get to double digit slams.
Not greatness. But ATG level for sure. Big 3 have really spoiled us.Is that the litmus test for greatness now? Only five guys whose careers took place entirely within the Open Era have reached double digits in slam titles. Five male players in 56 years.
Is the standard retroactive? Because what you are now saying is that Connors, Agassi, Lendl, McEnroe, Wilander, Edberg, and Becker should no longer be considered all-time greats. Not greatness. But ATG level for sure.
Yes, that's my point. Tiafoe and Alcaraz do similar things, and yet you get 10X as many people complaining about Tiafoe. Why is that? And Tiafoe doesn't do that stuff? Aside from the false humility, he doesn't do that
Ha, wow, you really aren't good at interpreting text and/or actions. Bitterness? Huh? I'm simply pointing out your hypocrisy (or something else). Why would that make me bitter? There’s a lot of bitterness in your post. Insulting Alcaraz and indirectly me is your way of defending Frances?
Oh for goodness sake, I’ve never liked Tiafoe and said so before this tournament. It’s got nothing to do with Alcaraz; you were the one who brought him into it.Yes, that's my point. Tiafoe and Alcaraz do similar things, and yet you get 10X as many people complaining about Tiafoe. Why is that?

You are clearly still upset that your golden child got humiliated by Botic VDV (I can't even spell his name), while Francis was in the semi finals, winning over thousands of fans in the process.
Don’t forget the ear cupping..I thought Novak was called cringe for that lolSure did. Tiafoe really gets a disproportionate amount of hate. I get the guy isn't for everyone, but people freaking out about him have their own issues to deal with.

There’s no match thread?
lol perhaps right..thanks for sharing.US open 2024- Jannik Sinner vs Taylor Fritz Final
Vote!! @TW Staff please add final in thread / titlett.tennis-warehouse.com
you might have that thread's starter on your ignore list?
As expected. As for the final, I'll just make this observation:
At one point Fritz and Tiafoe got into a 31 shot rally (with Fritz winning the point). They were both completely exhausted, and acting like they had played the most difficult point in their entire careers. The hitting was fairly hard, but not that huge, and there were a few slices thrown in.
And the thing is, Sinner and Medvedev had at least 4-5 rallies like that in the first set alone, where they were hitting even harder! So really, Fritz's only hope is that Sinner is really tight, injured, or both.
Your reasons don't have to follow my rules, they simple need to follow the rules of logic. No?Oh for goodness sake, I’ve never liked Tiafoe and said so before this tournament. It’s got nothing to do with Alcaraz; you were the one who brought him into it.
I don’t have to like who you want me to like, nor do my reasons have to follow your rules.
Yes, thank you, beyond annoying. My wife heard me yelling in the other room, and she asked what happened in the match. I said, 'nothing crazy, but I might break the TV if they put that moron on the screen another time.'3 games, 3 times they have shown Taylor Swift, 3 times too many, hopefully that is it.
