I'm hating both of them right now. Tiafoe with his expected walkabout midway through the second set (he usually doesn't make it through a match without one). Then Dimtrov gives two terrible doubles on set point - making me think he doesn't deserve the set. Then Foe, back on serve in the tiebreak, double faults. And you know what, it's not even the fact of the double fault. It's HOW he double faulted. By going for that insanely big first serve on the first serve -way too much. And then completely decelerating on the second serve - too little.

Tiebreaker played out like a great TV show with with an awful final season.

Тайбрейкът на втория сет…три поредни двойни грешки - всичките на мачпойнт

Man, you're kidding me! Grigs beggars up and Frances follows suit to lose the tb- Lol! Hoping Grigs can play free now. Nice hold so looking better.

Grigor’s forehand is sweet!
Nice to see a 1-hander at this big stage of the event.
FH potency last year he is at 7.8 and Tiafoe is just at 5.0

Novak is at 13.1 meaning he wins four more pts than Dimitrov from neutral, and 5/6 more points vs Tiafoe from neutral fh to fh

Foe does keep his head in it better than he has. Ever since Wimbledon he's been better. I'm not saying he'll win (though think he could). But, he easily could have been really dejected by all the opportunities in the second set, wasting the lead, double faulting after Grigor gifted him two doubles. And he didn't even play well in Grigor's first two service games of the third set. Yet, here we are; he's still fully in the match and has a break.

Did dimitrovs coach tell him to hit more top spin bhs rather than slice? It would be more interesting to hear the comms explain the coach/player interaction, but commentator mcenroe preferred talking over what dimis coach was saying with something from the 80s

I would rather be locked in a room and forced to listen to my fav Raul drone on about electric cars for an entire day then one minute more of Courier and Carillo. Mute.

Well, that's probably it.

Maybe I'm just getting more and more cynical as I get older, but this feels like the worst US Open I've ever watched. Probably said that about quite a few slams the past few years.
