Here we go folks, this will be the 5th meeting between these two; first ever outside of the North American Hard courts.

H2H is 2-2, with Paul having won both of their Canadian open clashes in 2022 (Alcaraz had a match point here) & 2023 in 3-set matches; whereas Alcaraz won their Miami 2023 match in 2 sets & Cincinnati 2023 match in 3 sets (After being fed a bagel TB in set 2 in which he held match points).

In previous round, Alcaraz defeated Ugo Humbert of France in 4 sets, albeit the 4th set was a nailbiter; whereas Paul defeated Carlos's countryman Bautista Agut in straightforward fashion 62 76 62.

How does this match go? Who wins and in how many sets? Vote and discuss.

I understand Carlo fans fear , Tommy paul is a tough match up for him. I hope Carlos wins so we can have revenge against him in semi

Dangerous match for Alcaraz, but he tends to be a big occasion player. I haven't seen him play yet this tournament - have hardly been able to watch at all - so I can't really make an informed prediction. I Alcaraz in 4 or 5 though. He has too much variety for Paul.

Alcaraz has quite the possible draw, could potentially face Queens and Halle winners back to back just to get to the final, and could potentially then face seven time Wimbledon champion.

Alcaraz in 4. He loves the big stage, he loves being challenged. TP is really really good, but the young Spaniard will rise to the occasion.

I don't know...
Last match-ups and recent results of TP in grass tell me that this is going to be the end of Raz in Wim24.
I would say Paul in 5, but I want to believe, so I voted Carlos in 5.

Still killing the weak so that the strong survive? :)
We are the hunters. We kill the weak, so the strong survive. You can't stop the new world. Your filthy society will never get rid of people like us. It's breeding them! We are the future!

They don't make them like they used to anymore.

No they don't.

Iconic scene.

Between how good Paul has looked here, his being the Queens champion, how much he obviously likes the matchup, how inconsistent Alcaraz has been, this is the match that almost makes me wish I were a betting man because I’m sure the bookies have got no clue on the On Paper potential of this one.

I honestly want him to lose if he continues to clown around, lack focus and commitment, and disrespect the game with his pathetic effort.

Either play like a champion, or **** off. Simple as.

Hopefully Ferrero will have been following my posts.

Court 1 is the banana skin court. It where upsets happen. If Carlos continues his spotty form and Paul continues to play well then this could be close and upset possible. That said taking alcaraz in 4 and to step up on big points!

This is of no use

If the guy wins in 5 or 3 it's same.

If he is to be taken down Paul has to win 3 sets by hook or crook. I mean lie and cheat if you must

Winning in 3 and in 5 are definitely different.

Think of the energy that would be wasted when the match goes full 5 sets. And Carlos already ha had long matches.

Going the distance won't help him at all.

2 days off. Doesn't matter if he goes five. He is very fit.

Meddy can't win a game on return.

Sinner probably won 14 or so straight pts on serve. This will end only one way.

If that is true

Hope it at least goes five if not total loss.

I just think Carlos has looked a little vulnerable this year at Wimbledon. Just get this feeling he may struggle a bit, but maybe not. However, when he faces Sinner or Djokovic, he will be ready to battle his way through.

If Garfia can beat 3 straight players with a grass title in this day and age that will be super impressive.
