He'll never be a great volleyer, but Med at least needs to learn to approach with an open-faced slice on short balls. He hits the squash shot from the back of the court, so he should be able to do it.
His technique is actually kind of laughable if you watch him through the lens of “this is a dominant tennis player”. Volleying is even worse.

I think Djokovic in hindsight has been unlucky this year. Sick in australia and injured at FO, the reality is he would have won the Grand Slam this season had he not been unlucky. He is way better than anyone on tour even now. Nadal and Federer obviously are folklore, but i think people underestimate how great Murray Del Potro and Wawrinka were as they troubled peak Djokovic far more than any player on tour can trouble a declined Djokovic now if he is playing well.
This semi final is so low in quality it actually is depressing.
Excellent post. Couldn't agree more.
Alcaraz also hasn't played his best. I think his game has regressed since Wimb 2023. He was bad in hardcourt fall season. Awful in Australia in 2024.
Then lucky in French Open to win with his B game.
That won't work in Wimbledon vs Novak.

Again totally agree. Just plain facts right there.

Its so hard for you to wrap your head around the fact that this can be true and Sinner is still better, right?

Its so amusing to watch how your mind cannot compute this.
Its so nice you dont need facts to know the truth, i say Hugo Gastón has more talent in a Pinky than sinner, and i dont need any titles to prove that, i just know

The commies give Alcaraz a 5.5/10 rating today.

Henman says 6/10 and another said 7/10
I would give Alcaraz a 4.5 or 5/10.
He needs to play at 9.5 or 10 to challenge Novak on Sunday., If he plays like this, it would be a blowout.

Novak is an amazing player physically even in 30s, I wont argue on that with you on that, but remember if Novak was not facing a CYGS pressure that day then today we would be talking of Med in the same league as Zverev. Not much to separate them except the fact that Med won 1 slam and briefly became rank 1 while Zed could not. So my point is Med cannot be called any better than Roddick today, you guys are trying hard to pump up Medvedev but he needs that 2nd slam to have any argument over Roddick who has more titles and also faced peak Federer in 2000s which was terrible. When you are of the same age as Federer and facing Djokodal rising, there is nothing you can do but retire, for Med it is the opposite, daily the future gets brighter for him since Big 3 are all decade older to him and they are only degrading. We just cannot glorify Medvedev over Roddick until Med gets a 2nd Slam.
I still rate Med better than Roddick no disrespect, he has a better baseline game and magic in the corners. Gotten into multiple finals and got a bit unlucky, played one poor one AO 2021 though yes

Yes its hard for me to put a guy with only a Halle title over a guy who has a Wimbledon title while competing against the exact same field.

I can't even tell if you're trolling at this point.

Saying the roof has changed the outcome of the QF is too much for you to understand, after all. Which is scary ineptitude.

Right. I'll give him serve and backhand. The forehand is proven consistent (at least from the baseline), but is just so odd. Sometimes if he's controlling the point is can sort of look normal, but when he's scrambling and trying to loop and dig, it just looks funky. And these forecourt forehands where he has to run in and try to approach and get over the ball quickly using topspin. I don't understand why he can't do that - like he's just not good at shortening his loop.

Med and Roddick are born 14-15 years apart, baseline game on an avg evolved, today's players have far better baseline game than those 20 years ago.

So what? We can only be judged by what we won, 1 slam = 1 slam, until you get 2 you are still same.
