Defending champion returns to the Men's Final - well done, Carlos Alcaraz. Either of Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti will have their hands full in the battle for the championship. If it's Djokovic, that will be a compelling rematch, for sure.
Even the commentators are saying Musetti has no chance.
Get ready for an epic Alcaraz vs Djokovic final. Hopefully Alcaraz doesn't lay an egg and plays better than he did in the SF.

If Alcaraz plays well, Djokovic will not be able to withstand the Spanish's intensity and pace of play.

Well that’s good I guess. Who wants Med in another slam finals anyways. He would just bugger it up like Zverev at RG

If you were to tell me 5 years ago that the tstsipas/Med/Zverev gen would have one slam between them I would have thought you were crazy. But I guess that’s how it ends up
I have thought to myself privately the last few years that Tsitipas is the failure gen version of Federer, Zverev is the failure gen version of Djokovic, and Thiem is the failure version of Nadal with a one-handed bh lol

And more recently, Alcaraz is the new success version of Nadal, Sinner is the success version of Djokovic, Federer has no one haaa

Medvedev is no one lol, he's GOAT Nishikori if anything hahahahah

Anyway

Not sure about that. If Alcaraz plays his A game, match will be close and go to 5 sets.
If Alcaraz plays like he did in the SF, Novak wins easily likely in straights.

Sure. But while people are listing all his terrible shortcomings, here he is in his second Wimbledon final in a row, second Slam final in a row, and waiting to play either against a 40 year-old with a busted knee (who he beat last year) or an Italian who's never been here before. People these days are simply unable to enjoy any type of greatness because all they can do is compare it to big 3 records. Tiresome.
Fair enough. Can't argue with the results at the end of the day.

Imo despite nationalities, Alcaraz is a lot more similar to Fed than he is to Nadal.

Alcaraz joins Djokovic, Nadal and Murray as the only active players to reach back to back finals at Wimbledon. He joins the same 3 as the only active players to reach back to back finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Will he proceed to join Nadal and Djokovic as the only 3 active players to win back to back titles at Roland Garros and Wimbledon?

The kid is amazing. I picked Sinner as my guy in this Gen, so end up not particularly rooting for Raz but damm have to tip my hat to what he is doing at 21. Terrific stuff from the youngster. Mature beyond his age. I see he is erratic at times going for glory but that’s just the youth in him trying to create highlight reels and entertain. As he matures expect him to become more steadfast playing % tennis. He’s going to lock up an entire generation of tennis fandom like Roger did.

I agree, I think he plays with carefree abandon knowing he can always win the next point or game at will if he loses this. Some showmanship, some eyouthful exuberance but that also gives an idea of his mental fortitude. I will be very surprised if he doesn’t change over time.

Too good from Carlos!
Yes I, Carlitos.
Med played better than the SF in 2023 and Carlitos, not as well. The result, sweet. Irie!

well. Result would have been different if it was sinner on the other end of the net and not GenMUGlostGEN whatever they are called
No man, the 'would have/should have ' s*!t gone with the wind. What counts is the 'is', namely, Carlitos beat the man that beat the Sinnerman. Ups and down, its part of life.

Correction. Med beat injured sinner. It’s not up and down. It’s injured vs healthy. Tennis is not exactly a sport you can played with a screwed up foot. It’s not polo

Correction. Injury is part of life's ups and downs. This is not a difficult concept, man. The Sinnerman went 5 sets with his 'screwed up' foot and lost. He was not playing polo, for sure. Good job you noticed he was playing on his feet. That is precisely the point. No one plays 5 sets with a 'screwed up' foot. He's a great player / kid, and will have his 'ups' again soon, no doubt.
