Krejcikova will likely be Rybakina's toughest test. If Rybakina can get through her, she should win easier vs Paolini.

Eubanks Miami QF, Mallorca win, and Wimbledon QF in 2023. Not the same - it doesn't include Slam finals, and the timeline is a little longer with more losses in the time frame. But still, that stretch was just massively better than anything he had ever done before - and since. He completely reverted to his former self after Wimbledon 2023 and never made a splash again and is now back to 125ish in the rankings. Paolini may not keep this pace of winning up, and I don't think she's destined to always go super deep in every Slam, but I think she'll still be having good results at least semi-consistently.
I thought of Eubanks for a moment but he just had one QF run at Wimbledon. This is back to back Slam Finals by Paolini. I surely thought that the RG final was a fluke then she did it again on a much different surface at the very next slam. It's nuts.

Agree, Hitman. This is where she can be dangerous.....figures a few things out.....changes pace, perhaps wins a close set to get even, and before you know it - you're in a battle, especially if there's any level drop from the opponent.
Bára has a unique ability to lead her opponents out of the concept, so she can play a balanced game even with the biggest hitting female tennis players. When she is in form, she varies the ball very well and places it very cleverly.

Barbora is clutch but Elena is so freaking passive in her return games, not bold enough, someone like Sabalenka would have already won this match.
IMO, one of Rybakina's general weaknesses (I'm not saying it's worse in this match than usual) is a tendency to play big points limply. She can be whacking winners right and left, then reach break point / set point / match point and start just tapping the ball.

Rybakina has simply been out foxed here, just has not been allowed to play since early moments of first set.

Babs looking like a W champ right now.

What Krejcikova is doing to Rybakina right now is a masterclass in frustration tennis. This is really good stuff. She has such a feel for the ball and never gives the same look twice. It’s a bit more sophisticated and high brow version of Paolini’s strategy imo.
With a better serve as well.

If Elena doesn’t turn this around fast, this one will sting for years and years. Not sure you’ll ever get a better look at a 2nd Wimbledon title in your career.
She responded really well the first 2 points after the break. I think she'll get another but the draw did open up quite a lot this year

Sad that Elena is going to lose. She is the prettiest dame in the WTA right now. Could have been a top tier model if she didn't play tennis.

Final will be interesting to see if Krej tries her mind games there too. Paolini is quite resistant to pressure, so she's not easy to make fold like that

Even as the first person to declare that Krejcikova can achieve big victories in singles too on this forum, I'm amazed by her run here at Wimbledon! Not amazing match from Rybakina, but not so horrible either... Barb was excellent and her large toolbox is always an advantage.

Final might be very interesting (or totally not :-D )

Elena simply didn’t show up today. The way she got broken twice in the first set…she was lucky she got of that one, but the signs were all there that she wasn’t completely settled in.

Wow, after a year, the Czech female tennis player is again in the Wimbledon final!!! Congratulations Barbora!

She managed to surprise the tennis world again! I didn't really believe that she would beat Rybakina, but she was able to outplay her with a smart game.

Elena need to show a little more intensity on court. The 4-3 service game was definitely breakable. But she just gave it away after being 30-30
