Iga's draw is a load with Collins possibly as her first match and then possibly the winner of Boulter and Noskova (who beat Iga at Auz Open.)

If Queen Venus can win first round its Kudermotova and then it may be the winner of Ostapenko versus Kerber.

More 2nd round eye candy if Woz comes through to play Vekic and then it may be the winner of Jabeur v Andreeva.

Will Badosa's partner get her over the line to play Rybakina 2nd round?

Osaka v Samsonova potential 2nd round.

22 year old Xiyu Wang will be no joke for Coco.

Siniakova vs Mrs. Monfils might be interesting.

Radacanu vs resurgent Yastremska might happen 2nd round.

wow, so soon for a possible rematch 3rd round for Kalinskaya vs. Paolini?

if Mirra Andreeva gets past Volynets tomorrow, she faces Jabeur in the 2nd round.
Her sister Erika, is playing her 2nd round qualifier match in seven hours vs. Kayla Day, an american girl ranked 88.

Linda Fruhvirtova playing her 2nd round qualifier in five hours.
young 16 year old Brenda Fruhvirtova, seems to be absent this IW.

Glad to see Badosa back for her 1st round match vs. Krueger tomorrow. Since her injury withdraw from her 1st round match in Dubai.
Sad that her spinal-stress fracture injury had caused so much trouble for her attempts to return to the tour in the past year.

Mirra should get past volleys.

At this time, 4 peeps have voted for “others”. You should then post who you’ve voted for in the comments section.
If I vote "other" for any WTA event, the answer is always Giorgi. For the ATP, it's Moutet. That's the heart, anyway.

For the head? The WTA is such a complete mess, it's like throwing a dart. But I'm picking Emma Navarro for the W at IW.

Wow, how f--ing cute is Petra Martic? So pretty... so graceful... so classy...

Errani being able to bagel someone horrifies me. I haven't seen a match of hers in a while but when she started serving underhand on many of her serves because she kept double faulting, I thought she was done.
Yeah, for a while it looked like she was destined to disappear forever. Couldn't even win qualifying matches at low level tournaments. Lately, however, she has managed a few results here and there. I'm pretty sure Osaka will blow her away, though.

Hibino! Really Tommy Haas? Fix is in much?!
Honestly, this draw is pretty ridiculous when it comes to certain wildcrads that you know they want to see succeed (at least for a round or two). Venus gets a super weak qualifier. Raducanu the same. Osaka the same. Gauff get's the easiest quarter by far...

Meanwhile Giorgi, who hasn't gotten an easy draw that I can remember in the last 6 months, get's in form Boulter (whom I think is the highest ranked non-seed in the tournament, based on live rankings)? Come on...

Petra is super cute.

Next in my "I can't believe they've never been ranked higher than that" series..

Camilla Giorgi. Highest ever rank 26.

Winner of a W1000. Big server. Persistant pest in any draw. Can mix it with the best of them. 26 is it as good as its ever got?!

Were there people commenting (positively) on Boulter's looks last week? Sharing a court with the Queen, she is not coming off well.

I think Giorgi decided a long time ago that spending her 20's and early 30's traveling the world, playing some tennis, making some great money and living a wonderful life, was preferable to devoting every waking moment to the sport, just to make a little more money and have a few more trophies in the cabinet, all the while being fairly miserable. Hard to blame her.
