she was 53rd ranked for singles last year
this thai guy has nothing
Can someone please explain to me how a 418 in the world with no matches played at all can get a WC to the AO main draw while everyone else has to go through qualifiying??

Sounds like he earned the wildcard fair and square. More so than some others.this thai guy has nothing
and Tsitsipas still lost even with home crowdMelbourne is fantastic with it's multicultural community (as is a lot of Australia). A lot of Lebanese people in Melbourne as well as Turkish fans who came along to watch Sonmez yesterday in the ladies singles!
Also a favourite fun fact is that Melbourne as a city has the largest population of Greek people in the world, outside of Greece.

A quick google-fu and I found this:
"It was a valuable week at the perfect time for Samrej, who earlier in the month won the Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wild Card Playoff to earn his place at the season’s first major"
Also he spent a week training with Djokovic before the tournament too, which must have helped how he performed today haha
One of them is likeableunless it's Novak...![]()
I respect Djokovic more for how he has behaved with his family. One of them is likeable![]()
I think he's a great person off court.I respect Djokovic more for how he has behaved with his family.
Tough draw for Zhang, one of my favourite guys on tour. Was hoping to see him get far in AO. But not on Holger's expense. Gotta support the Danes. Nice to see Musetti go through too.Great. R1 five setter like his predecessor.
Rublev is looking pretty good. I think he's going through in straight sets.Come on now, let's go!
Rubles in 5, but hopefully Fonseca in 5!
Your thoughts so far? I don't know if fonseca isn't that good returning or if Rublev is serving really well.Rublev is looking pretty good. I think he's going through in straight sets.
Judging by Fonseca's footwork and movement so far, he still is a little bit taken by the moment but looks to be settling in more and more. From the first 10 games it is already obvious that Fonseca has the bigger game overall so key for Rublev will be to keep the pressure up.Your thoughts so far? Rublev served really well, but Fonseca just gave it all in that tiebreak. Impressive.Your thoughts so far? I don't know if fonseca isn't that good returning or if Rublev is serving really well.
That breaker was crazy lol, watched in my hotel lobbyThe Fonseca hard kicker first serve with the combination of extreme angle and pace is impressive
