The current state isn't boring for me, but I love variety. Always liked the older Zverev better than his brother.
I see, this lack of varieties irritates me.
The best spectacle is when two players are at the net, and they are trying to figure out how to win a point.

That's why I really liked Mischa Zverev's game, especially matches with Roger vs Mischa:D.

If would be nice if there were also player with two backhand both sides and players with two forehands if there is no serve and volleys players and there is small players with one handed backhand...

This would be some kind of addition to the game. ;)

Shelton's backhand technique is underwhelming. It looks like Rafa's at the age of 12

Looks like Sonego in 5 right now. Shelton needs 6 deuces to potentially get through his service games and Sonego is holding in less than 2 minutes each time.

Sonego is hitting his backhand more aggressively than Shelton is hitting his forehand. Ugly. Ben’s only hope is that Sonego is a little tight and making some UEs.

I like Shelton, but at some point he and his dad will have to realise that this is not college tennis. But they both seem content to keep it at this level.
I do too, but he plays some brainless tennis. When it works, it's fun to watch but otherwise it's rough. If it's not a free point off serve, he'll just go for winners after a few rally balls and pray they land in. He clearly has talent but his whole game needs reworking. I'm afraid being so close to his dad is hurting him more than anything. He should get a real coach to teach him better tactics.

Real coach...I've said this from the start. All this potential going to waste.

The next Tsitsipas.

Sinner played two Aussies this tournament.

2R against WC #173 Tristan Schoolkate
QF against #8 De Minaur

One Aussie won a set and 14 games all up while one got just 6 games lol.

Well done Tristan, you fared better than De Minaur and Channel 9 had Australia thinking Alex had a chance tonight. Haha.

Right. The commentators were Somdev DevBarman and Sania Mirza. And in the last 30 years, Indian and Indian origin players have marked their mark but only in doubles (Paes, Bhupathi, Sania, Rajeev Ram , Bopanna etc). Leander Paes, Somdev and Sania had tried in singles but couldn't go far. Nagal is struggling

And frankly in present times with players being so strong and super fit, its difficult for Indian build players. You will lack in physicality always
Agree to everything but physicality. There are plenty of Indians with good physique which will show in the coming decades. The problem with India was basically nutrition and that there was only one sport-Cricket which you could live off of and it only needed 15 players for a nation. There were no private leagues like IPL and cricket was played by one country against another. So unless you were a generational talent you did not go into sports. I assume it was the same for most South Indian nations courtesy of the British rule.
You will see a lot more players in different sports going forward. You can see now that Indians have gotten pretty good at badminton and table tennis.

Yeah, Ben Rottenberg tweets are a no go. The guy has no brain and no insight, but he's happy to jump on the bandwagon that's complaining about the Aussie media?

As for Shelton, one of the things he mentioned was an interviewer saying that Monfils was "almost your dad." He pretty clearly meant to say 'old enough to be' your dad, but misspoke in the moment. Ben is making something out of nothing.

Honestly, this is a little disappointing from Shelton. I like his athletic tennis, and I enjoy his high energy persona on court, which is pretty fun. I don't know why he's trying to seem serious and intellectual in his interviews. I mean, he only went to college to hit a little green ball, and he doesn't strike me as a super deep thinking. I think a few of the people on tour have been in the bubble too long, and don't realize there are serious people out in the world dealing with things on a level they can't even really comprehend.
