Novak is done with idiots in the crowd and does no on-court interview. Signs autographs with his fans before leaving the court, and writes in Serbian on the camera lens
Statement made. He seems very disappointed and angry
I mean he hit quite a few shots for the armchair years later to watch
Gets such disrespect from a bunch of hecklers
I get it people want more tennis, but that is NO way to make it clear that way
Man on a mission

Well done Nole! Those Nole haters Fedalbrigade don't deserve to get your on court interview.

I feel so sorry for Jim Courier though, as much as I dislike his match commentaries.

Little bit of a tricky, slightly unusual end to the match with no on court interview. Still plenty of fan access from Djokovic afterwards so not like he stormed off. We will know more about the decision not to do an interview in the press conference I guess.

Yeah, Djokovic signed autographs for the fans.

Djokovic navigated a very tricky draw as best as he possibly could. He had the tougher overall path to the quarters.

Till the semi if he wins qf, till the final if he wins semi, till the Championship lol if he wins final lol

I simply don't understand why these youngsters can't keep their trash talk for AFTER their victory. Saying in advance that you think Djokovic is not a god and you can win is not really smart when our opponent feeds on being taunted.

Seeing the footage of Djokovic having a deep and meaningful conversation with Craig Tiley while wearing a comically oversized “Tennis is Life” T-Shirt is one of the truly surreal moments of this AO :-D

On a more serious note, there is obviously something that has happened that has prompted Novak to not do the on court interview.

At this stage it seems like he is not happy with the way either the AO, the chair umpire or the host broadcaster is handling the criwd and the on court interview process and may want to limit the distraction it causes him if an interview goes poorly.

Djokovic will always be Djokovic and it is what it is, I guess. Because of this personality, he gets even more haters, but on the other hand, he gets more success because of that too. In 20 years, however, I'm sure he'll look back and laugh with others on incidents like this.

The result of the 1st two sets had more to do with Lehecka being unable to find the court than Djokovic being particularly fired up.
I think even if Lehecka played his best, Djokovic is a horrible matchup for him because of the limitations in his game and the fact that he plays with very little margin for error, but it’s true that Lehecka played poorly. He really only found his range on serve in the third set.

It’s a straight set loss and still I think the score somewhat flatters Lehecka. He was poor and the aets couldve have been even leas competitive. To steal a set from Novak in this kind of form he needed to absolutely redline and maybe that was a factor in him not executing, along with the threat Djokovic poses.

A good win for Djokovic. I really thought he could be in trouble this game so to win in straight sets is great for him. He proven he still one of the top 8 players in world which is great. Don’t blame him for storming off! Haha

Are you comparing Sinner with those two Czechs? No disrespect, but Sinner will make it much tougher for Djokovic. Add the fact that Djokovic will have to go through two battles against two of the top 3 opponents, I think Sinner has a very good chance of repeating the same result this year v Djokovic.
Where would I have compared Sinner to the two Czechs?

I said that in a possible rematch of last year's semifinal the difference would be much less wide, like the Shanghai final brought to the best of 5 sets.

Adding that I would always consider Sinner the favorite.
So where would I have compared Sinner to the two Czech flops?

That dropper pickup from Djokovic in second set is just possible for handful of players today.

Movement so good at 37.
Unreal movement. There were a couple more points with a big wow-factor.
Novak did some serious work in the off season and is much better prepared compared to 2024

That proved to be not the real reason, Novak decided to boycott channel 9 because a journo insulted Serbian Fans a few days ago with an astonishing bad "banter" joke.
Yeah, well, good on him. As a fellow Eastern European that grew up trusting the whole "west is good and fair" propaganda in the early 90s only to face the reality of being mocked, humiliated or looked down upon for no reason by my western fellows so many times, I certainly approve Nole's stance in boycotting this uncivilized and trolling behavior from this Australian organization and it's mouthpiece. Yet another modern Australian hospitality. I recognize Australia less and less, completely different than the Australia I lived in for two years 25 years ago. Stay strong Nole, it's only making all of us stronger and stronger.

“The dramatic decline of Australia’s broadcasters has reached a new low point. Channel 9 has announced devastating job cuts with 200 employees set to be eliminated across its struggling TV network.”

Is Tony among them? I reckon you can save 100 on his paycheck.

I was speaking more in terms of how much trouble the Czechs and Sinner would have v Djokovic. The two Czechs are not on the level as Sinner right now, so we can't directly apply the outcome from those matches and say Sinner will have mighty problem in his potential match v Djokovic. Djokovic will always be a threat, but I think this Sinner will have less problem, if anything, than last year, knowing that he is now very much the best player and is also capable of beating Djokovic even at Rod Laver Arena. Also, the Czechs didn't quite have what it takes to expose Djokovic's age, whereas Sinner does.

That's crazy, the AO is the tournament that has benefited the most from his presence. They will miss him when he's gone.
