A lot of that looked like trouble with the position of the sun. It was exactly behind her toss, tricky.

She's definitely a big match player. She might not turn up for your Yuans or your Zhengs, but she will definitely be chuffed to play Gauff on a main court at the AO.

For more than two sets I have been treated to 'specialty' camera angles for the Linette vs. Uchijima match.
It was essentially unwatchable.

Gauff takes it 6-3 6-3. Still, lots of respect for Kenin who still can really turn it on. Just not sharp enough today, hitting tons of shots long. Would have been nice to see her play her way into form at the AO, but Gauff in round one was always going to be a tall ask.

Personally, I wouldn't call it an upset.

#54 vs #116.

Krueger literally beat Ajla in straight sets a week and a half ago and came in with the QF in Brisbane and also in Adelaide which included wins over Kalinskaya, Kostyuk and Badosa.

Meanwhile Ajla came in on a 3 match losing streak.

Sure it's not a seeded scalp but it was an upset.

I'm enjoying the women who are now cutting to the chase by ditching their skirts entirely
