8+ years without the WTA having #1 v #2 in a slam final. And it continues.

We have to wait yet again for Sabalenka v Swiatek in a slam final.

Maybe next time I guess.

Credit to Madison, played better on the big points.

Swiatek is a choker .Keys just wanted it more. Gonna be tough though against the champ but she gave herself an opportunity.

Oh come on, I was being genuine. You don’t want to take up the offer? If Keys wins I’ll have whatever photo you want, if Keys embarrasses herself again in a slam final / can’t win more than 6 games then I pick your photo.

Given how she played today Keys is a better chance than 2017?

Look, it might be one side final 6-2,6-0 (worse than Sloane beatdown), but we also would not know what would be Sabalenka - Swiatek on Australian Open Hardcourt going to be.
Last year we don't really have an entertaining final all slams, so here's to hopefully one.

I thought it was a good offer? Don’t you have faith in Keys?
Your offer is good, but in bad faith because it’s driven by pettiness. I have no clue how Madison will play in the final It will be a win either way because Sab will keep the title and the no. 1 ranking or Keys pulls the upset of life.

We know it would’ve been better than that given all their last matches lol but ok. And it would’ve been nice to finally have #1 v #2 again for the first time in 8 years but full credit to Keys. Hope she gets more games than she did in the 2017 USO final.

I'm not an Iga fan, but ya'll are acting like their H2H isn't 3-3 on hardcourts. I know it hasn't gone well recently, but despite my dislike for Iga, I would be a lot more excited if she was in the final vs. Sabalenka.
Speak for yourself. Stop trying to to push this narrative. Let the match play itself out.

I haven't seen Keys fight this hard in a long time. I only saw the third set, but it seemed to me that Keys had more of a game, was a more offensive player on the court, and didn't make many mistakes.

It's an incredible run for Keys, she beating Rybakina, Svitolina and now Swiatek. And I think she'll give Sabalenka a lot of trouble with her game level.

Great match. Iga still suffers the big&flat hitters. Have been wondering why she doesn’t adjust her court position. Does she fear losing depth and angles?

She made plenty of mistakes, but regrouped and didn’t give up or back down. The most important thing is made Iga have to up her game or try harder to impose her game.

I think having her coach right on the court has been a calming factor and helped reinforce exactly what she needs to do point to point. She's one of those players that benefits most from it.

Well done Maddy in overcoming Iga's opponent squashing run but she might be a lamb sent to the slaughter in the final against Aryna.
