Honestly haven't seen a Raducanu match in years so it's nice to see her against Alexandrova.

Alexandrova reminds me of Mertens, both in looks and cause she's quietly consistent on tour. Always around the top 30, stable results, a couple big runs a year and then wins her 1R or 2R at the 1000 tournaments but loses to the better player.

It's 4-4 in the first and Raducanu has already hit 8 double faults..... (also 6 aces).

She's twice led by a break but given it back.

Make that a 9th double and she's broken, Alexandrova now serving for the set.

Carle with some fairly obnoxious screaming and grunting. So annoying. I hope Amanda vanquishes her.
Speaking about screaming and grunting...
Did anyone catch Danimal yesterday?
It was the first time I ever saw her go absolutely berserk with her grunts.
It was way over the top, obviously meant to send a message.

But it was so contrived I'm surprised she didn't receive a warning or penalty from the umpire.
The screams/grunts had nothing whatsoever to do with her strokes. She would start them way after she finished her strokes
and carry it over until Snigur had made contact with the ball!

Does anyone here like the “highlights” where they artificially zoom way in and out to make it look more exciting? I can’t bring myself to watch that ****.
Getting tired of the AO implying tennis is a boring sport and that we need all sorts of extra gimmicks to enjoy it.

Bondar-Wang looks like a match being played at a neighborhood tennis club. If someone accidentally hits the ball over the fence, she has to quickly run outside and find it before it rolls into the woods.

Zheng trying to play mind games with Erika. Standing 4 feet+ inside the baseline while Erika is serving. Then just as Erika is about to hit the ball she quickly retreats 10 feet behind the baseline! :)

Erika finishes the match in two sets. :)

So both Andreeva sisters into next round
Erika made it tricky for herself. Led 6-1 3-1, I thought it was going to be done in an hour. Surprised it got to the breaker.

She now faces either Haddad Maia or Riera. That is currently in the 3rd set. Beatriz just inconsistent at the slams for a top 20 player.
