I’m not talking about withdrawals, mind you. I’m talking about injuries that will hamper his potential achievements. He is 21. He has less withdrawals than Djokovic or maybe Sinner.
Rune simply outcluched Carlos in the first set.
Carlos definitely didn't want to play a third set...Madrid in question nowAlcaraz not running 100% for the ball there, but Holger is really playing well which probably makes you kind of give up if you are not 100%
Only Nadal's record in Madrid is human-like; in other tournaments, his performances are out of this world.Nadal's Barcelona record being saved by the new dude Rune.![]()
It would be a shame if Alcaraz couldn't make it into the top 2 before RG.Carlos definitely didn't want to play a third set...Madrid in question now

Agreed. I wanted him to skip rome but likely he would have to play Rome nowCarlos definitely didn't want to play a third set...Madrid in question now
Sounds like Chanda Rubin
If only he had played them there 10 times...He's not that impressive in Buenos Aires or Rio. Come on now.![]()
How many euros did the fans pay to watch the final? This is nice for the overprized tickets at least fans getting their money's worth
Actually it was his match against Ruud that opened my eyes a bit. He destroyed a competent clay courter against whom he has historically struggled a lot. That revealed that he’s in a good place mentally and I was sure he would at least make the final and keep it competitive against Raz.Rune wasn't going to fold to Alcaraz. His semifinal against Khachanov was a masterclass, if that was any indication of what he could do today. Good for him. Hopefully this is the beginning of something special.

It’s not just you, but I’m just tired of that kind of post. I love watching Alcaraz play, so then reading “Alcaraz fanatics” is annoying, even though I’m probably not the kind of fanatic you have in mind. And then writing that this must “drive them nuts” with obvious glee makes the post seem even more spiteful. I’d love for this forum to be positive and pro-tennis rather than anti this guy or anti those fans. Anyway, that’s just me, carry on!Unfortunately, I didn’t start us down that road, and as I’m looking at the thread now I'm seeing injury excuses emerge, as if the reason for Alcaraz’ difficulties isn’t the guy across the net. I’ve been consistent in pointing out the mercurial nature of his game, but few gave Rune a chance, anointing Alcaraz before the match had even begun.
Crazy stat. Well deserved title. He beat the guys who won the last three Barcelona titles.
ABZ in RunesFolks Zverev's birthday today, not only does he win his third Munich title and a car, he is now also back to world number two thanks to this loss of Alcaraz.
Was Alcaraz injured during the match?
I dont mindOr the other way around.

This is so gross. But Raz only has himself to blame tooFolks Zverev's birthday today, not only does he win his third Munich title and a car, he is now also back to world number two thanks to this loss of Alcaraz.
Rune is back and the world better watch out.
This is so gross. But Raz only has himself to blame too
Hopefully with Zved defending Rome and Alcaraz having so few points pre RG, he can make it back, but then again I can see Abuser going deeper in Madrid than he did last year too
It would be the last straw if Alcaraz and Sinner were on the same side of the draw at Roland Garros again. This is so gross. But Raz only has himself to blame too

He hardly played them. He's not that impressive in Buenos Aires or Rio. Come on now.![]()
He hardly played them.
Well, my tolerance for "fanatics" is pretty low, and that goes for all. Just love the game. Enjoy a number of players. If this place goes as gaga for Alcaraz and Sinner as it did for Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic - it'll be endlessly annoying - and it seems to be going down that path. Always happy for upsets, even gleefully happy. Nice to see guys stepping up and playing. Nice to see the same guys not winning every tournament like clockwork. It’s not just you, but I’m just tired of that kind of post. He turned 28 actually.Zverev birthday means he is now 29 years old. Time has almost run out.
seriously...although it was better for the game in general and his own game to not do it if he had prioritized the Golden Swing over the Middle East or Europe during February his clay record would be even more insane that it already isIf only he had played them there 10 times...

Whereas Djokovic is full of lifeZverev birthday means he is now 29 years old. Time has almost run out.
Zverev doesn't seem to have been around that long. Time flies.Zverev birthday means he is now 29 years old. Time has almost run out.
They really do! Barcelona goes all out, very cool! This is nice for the overprized tickets at least fans getting their money's worth
