Top 16 seeds:
1. Jannik Sinner
2. Carlos Alcaraz
3. Alexander Zverev
4. Taylor Fritz
5. Jack Draper
6. Novak Djokovic
7. Casper Ruud
8. Lorenzo Musetti
9. Alex de Minaur
10. Holger Rune
11. Daniil Medvedev
12. Tommy Paul
13. Ben Shelton
14. Arthur Fils
15. Frances Tiafoe
16. Grigor Dimitrov

Seeds 17- 32 include the familiar names that for the past few years have usually been in the top ten - Tsitsipas & Rublev

Opelka, Ruusuvuori, Brooksby & Ofner enter the draw using protected rankings. Notable withdrawals: Matteo Berrettini who has an abdominal injury and Goffin. Wawrinka plays as he obtained a Wildcard, as did 4 French players (including Gasquet) and three others including Tristan Schoolkate. Three lucky losers have slots owing to late withdrawals.

Looks as if Sinner has the tougher draw compared to Alcaraz as Draper, Djokovic and Zverev are all in his half.

Tough one to call but I'm going with Alcaraz.

I thought he had the hardest draw on paper for a clay slam with a bunch of good clay players in his draw but after doing some checking of his personal H2H against the players he may come across such as Tsitsipas, Ruud or even Musetti, I've now realized it's super one-sided and he's in form. On the flip side, I think too many people are overrating Sinner's draw, Djokovic hasn't looked anywhere near his best for months, Zverev too. Draper is probably the scariest and most in-form player but he's unproven at RG so far.

Still going with Sinner. My guy made a final despite being 3.5 months out of competition, 2 months of not even practicing with a pro and nearly taking the first set from the best clay courter this season and RG champ in the Rome final. My feeling he plays into form, reaches around 95% by the finals and gives Alcaraz a scathing loss.

I think he makes Quarters at best tbh

his legs or body on bo5 clay will not hold up. He can just obliterates everyone without getting physical on hard courts not on clay

R2 Rindernech will have a nice flight home after R1. Unless he’s in the doubles. :sneaky:

I picked Sinner as he is fresh and has a bone to pick with all the people accusing him of cheating. I think this will be added fire to his fuel. Alcaraz does have the more difficult draw though.

Right

Alcaraz is even more of a favourite now than before. Has the easiest draw of the 3 contenders by far

Are you kidding? Nishi has fallen a long way since his glory days, but he is still no easy first round. Then Nardi or Marzipan. I think he'll get past it, but expecting some dropped sets.

These are some amazing first round matches potentially:

Hurkacz v Fonseca
Mensik v Muller
De Minaur v Djere
Zverev v Tien
FAA v Arnaldi

And that's just the top half!

Will be interesting to see if Fonseca and Tien can go two slams in a row upsetting top players in R1. Based on clay form it does seem like Fonseca has a better shot of going deep, but Tien did beat Zverev in Acapulco

Alcaraz should handle these guys fairly routinely on clay although with Carlos he'll probably find a way to donate a few sets. After that, Tsitispas, Ruud and Musetti should they make it to Alcaraz are no easy feat, all guys whose best surface is clay, but compared to Sinner with Fils, Draper, Zverev and Djokovic with Medvedev, Zverev, Sinner and Zverev with Djokovic and Sinner in the quarters and semis potentially, it's a more favorable draw on paper.

look for Gasquet to annilate Sinner in 2nd round

Alcaraz will win his fifth Major title and his second RG trophy at just 22 years old.

Nishi just retired against Khachanov tbf… and yes I agree he will drop sets, but look at the QFs /SFs for the top guys

Djokovic - Zverev + Sinner
Sinner - Draper + Djokovic/Zverev
Alcaraz - Ruud + Musetti

Even if all these 6 find their best level, Raz’s is clearly the least tricky to navigate. Ruud and Musetti have no scary slam ceiling to speak of (yet) - Casper is fodder for ATG tier players and Musetti hasn’t really translated a good Bo3 level into Bo5 yet. I highly doubt they’ll bog Alcaraz down with long physical matches the way the other draw obstacles would have the potential to

That being said I know Zverev is a bit out of form atm (hahahaha) so if he continues to play toilet tier tennis, you may prove to be right

Yes, for me Ruud and Musetti are more likely to make the later rounds than Zverev or Djokovic. And it seems that often a tough first week is more risky than a tough quarterfinal. At least during the big 3 era that was usually the case.

Majors are a lot about pacing. And if a player has to ramp up their game too early, they may not have the stamina to finish. Although Raz is young.

IMO, Djokovic will go out in the first or second round. He doesn't have the stamina any longer and clay is brutal. I think he's done anyways but again just an opinion. I know many disagree.

I think this could be a slam where Musetti either shows what he has or doesn't. It's not a do or die situation as he's young, but it would be a great win for him. Still, he would have to get past Sinner or Alcaraz, and I don't think he can - yet.

Looking forward to RG, excellent introduction @Rattie, thanks, man. Good to see you.

Stark reminder of how some of the ubiquitous stalwarts of the top 10 have fallen away somewhat, although I note Rublev is in the Hamburg final. Medvedev seeded outside the top 10 too. Carlitos & Jannik, meanwhile, youngest top 2 seeds in a slam since Rafa & Roger at the USO 2006:

Hurkacz is doing well after his return, in the Geneva final after a good run in Rome. Plays Fonseca here, could be an interesting match, as could Zverev / Tien; Jarry/Fils. Let's see how Sunday unravels.

Not sure how closely people have watched the past Musetti v Alcaraz matches, but Lorenzo has absolutely no chance against Carlos. Musetti's biggest issue has always been his mentality, and he seems convinced he can't really threaten Alcaraz in any meaningful way. If they do meet in the French, Musetti will just roll over. Mark my words.

Tough draw for Sonic Jannik. A 4th round match against Fils could be tricky, QF likely Draper, then SF eventually against the Zedmug. I don´t expect Djokovic to go deep this time around.

I would love to see Djoker out early but it looks relatively routine until R4.
