Hey all, I just got this frame and wanted to share some measured specs to maybe speak to PK's current QC standards. This is a 100sq-in 16x19 frame w/ a constant 21mm beam and 58 RA. Swing weights measured w/ my Briffidi SW1:

SpecPublishedMeasured/Calculated
Static Weight (g)300300.8
Balance Point (cm)3231.9
Swing Weight (kgcm²)300
Recoil Weight (kgcm²)155.73
MgR/I20.372
Polarity Index0.518

Here are specs after adding a Yonex Supergrap and stringing it up w/ Head Velocity MLT 16g @ 52lbs mains, Yonex PolyTour Air @ 48lbs crosses:

SpecMeasurement/Calculation
Static Weight (g)322.6
Balance Point (cm)32.4
Swing Weight (kgcm²)327
Recoil Weight (kgcm²)165.13
MgR/I20.343
Pol. Index0.512

Agreed, stock SW is up there. I think this is going to make for a good platform frame for me since I'm looking to make tennis easier while retaining comfort & control. Initial impressions after a hitting session were that this does need some mass added, as I had developed more callusing in my hands than w/ my usual stick (VCP97 weighted up to 342g w/ 4g in the buttcap and 3g total at 10/2). So while the kinetic tech does help absorb vibrations, the frame was getting bodied on heavy service returns. Debating whether I should add weight to the throat to absorb shock and maintain balance, or add weight at 3/9 to up the TW. This is my first PK so I'm also trying to figure out how to best add weight to the handle as there's no trapdoor. Let the fun of experimentation begin!

SW is hefty, great frame, and great string combo. I love PT Air as a cross both with gut or multi main

I switched to multi/PT Air after a 4mo-long wrist injury last year, and haven't looked back. The thing that stood out to me after my first hit w/ this frame/string combo was the amount of ball pocketing. It felt amazing. Then after the honeymoon period, spin generation became the outstanding trait. I was able to hit a few kick serves w/ way more margin and penetration than w/ my VCPs. It reminded me of the type of balls I could hit w/ shaped polys. Launch angle is higher than I prefer so I need time to adjust, but this setup is very promising.

service returns. Debating whether I should add weight
Thanks. How do you feel in power? I have 2 the 2022 and I add 10 gr at 3 and 9. Now it’s perfect. This new one has a new composition and high sw from 219 to 224. It should add some power??!

I have a 2022 BAP, I took the butt cap off to add weight into the handle and straighten the butt cap. The problem I had was they have don’t have a foam handle. It’s graphite all the way to the end, and you’ll need the right staple gun to lock the butt cap down again. The staple needs to be the right size and strength with the right gun to drive it into the graphite handle. I’ve had to screw mine in which is kind of annoying. That aside you can add weight into the handle just not via a trap door. You’ll also have to account for the vibration chamber built into the butt cap that goes into the handle a little.

Maybe it's cuz I come from a low-powered frame (Vcore Pro 97) but I can't even imagine adding 10g to 3&9 on this; it'd be too much for me. With 2g each at 3&9 and a dampener, mine is at 338 SW. Borderline too much already for my game.

Thanks for this info. I'm seriously considering replacing my buttcap, but wasn't sure the best way to secure it.

Way easier for sure, but I want to be able to fine-tune the amount of weight I'm adding. Currently I'm wrapping the handle w/ lead but being able to just add putty in a trap door would be so much easier.

I believe the new one to have a slightly lower SW and, accordingly, being more maneuverable. Some weight at 3&9 or 2&10 make it e better than the 22 version. I still prefer the Ki15 300 though. Marginally less comfortable & less maneuverable & with a tad less feel, but performance wise, just superior in almost any aspect of the game.

I guess PK isn't going for the customising player demographic. I have a Donnay with a Unibody handle, no butt cap but there are holes where you can insert weight into the handle under the grip, PK could do something similar easily enough.

My physio has told me I have chronic GE now, so I’m contemplating going down the PK route and hope it’s enough to keep playing. I’m tossing up between the Ki5 295 and the new Black Ace 300. Is the difference in comfort just noticeable when comparing directly or did you find it accumulative as you hit more with one over the other?

My Black Ace 300 came in 304g unstrung, so 4g over spec for static weight. Kind of annoyed I didn’t asked them to weigh it, but I was preoccupied with checking for paint defects; it’s a bug bear of mine.

I have been swinging my Black Ace 315 lately. It's a cheat code (but so is my weighted up Black Ace Pro). I have added lead at 11-1 for more tip speed for serving but honestly I have begun peeling it off. It is borderline too powerful but somehow even with the higher trajectory the ball somehow keeps landing on the line. I have it stung at 58 to control that open spacing. Works a treat. It is like a Pure Aero and a Prestige had a baby. All of Pk's sticks are grossly overlooked and underrated. Plus my shoulder blades, wrist and elbow feel great - I feel nothing the next day.

This PK is my last ditch effort to stay on court, injuries now dictate my racquet and string set up; I will just learn to play with it.

Was this the current 2025 version? The 100 right?

I've customised my 2025 BAP but I'm still not getting the power I got from the version before. Not sure if it's the strings, I've tried changing them. Maybe it's the SW on mine but I haven't been able to check

Man this sounds bad, I'm confused. Reading your post earlier in the thread, it looks like you already had a PK, the 2022 BAP. The comfort tech is pretty much the same, it's a little more comfortable but I'm not sure if that would be nearly enough for your injuries.

Is it something to do with your technique? I think you need to work on some physio to help heal the damage. I would invest in one of those thera-massage guns to help with the healing. So chronic GE is basically TE but in a different place in the arm right?

I've found racquet head protection tape helps anyway when I've gone close to using too stiff or raw racquets with poly anyway. I can still use a softer poly but I have to customise the racquet. It doesn't weigh a whole lot for a strip to cover the top and sides. Maybe 1.5-2g for the top, I cut them lengthwise in half to let stringers be able to restring without me needing to take it off again. What strings are you using?

When i got a GE from switching to a Gravity Pro after ages with a PT630, I got it healed with BAP first and Pro Kennex 7G then. I would say that for GE a 7G with multi at medium - low tension is just unbeatable.

BAP is excellent but not if you muscle the ball to get power. BLACK Ace 300 is another excellent alternative. But most important thing is the string bed- multi, multi and multi again.

I’ve got chronic GE now, so my approach is give myself the best chance to keep playing.

PK Black Ace 300 with gut/multi hybrid.

First hit tomorrow morning, looking forward to it.

I also have a BAP, but i wanted a little more forgiveness.

I have a BAP, but the swing weight is high on mine, 330-ish, and I never really played with it.

I got the GE over time from over use, kinetic chain failure from my wrist injury and messing around with slightly stiffer racquets and heavier balls.

Confident the Black Ace 300 will work out.

would try to hunt down a old prince tour 100.
the old 18x20 o-port design is great. you can use full multi and still get enough control and spin.
hands down the most comfortable racquet i ever played, way more comfortable than any pro kennex.

Had my first hit with my BA300 this morning, strung with gut/multi @ 58/56lbs and added a fairway leather grip, 340g total.
Firstly, very happy with how comfortable it is, 10/10; I would say it is softer than the previous generation BAP.
Very pleasantly surprised how much I like it to be honest. Warming up with volleys the feel surpassed my expectations. Continued the warm up with some service box short ball rallies, felt good in the hand and contact through the ball felt nice much like the volleys. Moved to the baseline, words that come to mind are effortless, plush and stable.
The more relaxed you are when accelerating the racquet through point of contact the more it rewards you, definitely enjoyed the feel more than the BAP and possibly most, if not all of the other rackets I've played recently. When your timing is on point the sensation of crushing the ball is somewhat addictive. Depth, pace and spin were easy to generate, while at the same time the approach and touch shots were just as easy to execute.
My serve will take some time to adjust, but the couple I was able to connect with were very good serves, looking forward to getting that sorted out. Returns is where I was very surprised, the level of stability through point of contact off a short back swing to generate easy depth is not something I've experience before, it gave me so much more confidence particularly on my OHBH returns. My BH slice will need the biggest adjustment, it requires the technique swing path to be long and forward through the ball as opposed to a high to low across the body swing path.
Really hoping this isn't just the honeymoon period.

Replaced the stock buttcap w/ a Prince buttcap (P for PK ;)), and so far so good. Staples were a PITA to get out until I hit them w/ a heat gun to soften the plastic around them, then an awl was easy to get underneath to pry them out. The PK stock buttcap weighs 8.4g, and the PK kinetic weight itself weighs 22g. There's silicone all around it so that adds a bit of weight and probably some dampening. The Prince buttcap w/ trapdoor weighs 13g. Super easy to replace; I simply slid it on, applied two rounds of electric tape, then covered that w/ two rounds of packaging tape. Put maybe 20 hrs on it so far and it's solid. The divider in the handle shaft starts maybe 3in down, so it's easy enough to stuff a cotton ball there and start adding BluTack or putty. I initially added 25g of putty but settled on 20g. Feels great w/ a dampener; I even removed the 2g of lead at 3 & 9. Current specs are 335g static weight, 31.9cm BP, 332 SW, which means a 171.33 RW, 20.456 MgR/I and 0.511 pol. index.

Regarding GE; I was out for 3 months last year after injuring my wrist playing too much w/ different racquets and string setups. I was able to start playing again by adding 4g to the buttcap of my Vcore Pro 97 and while I feel that setup is still a tiny bit more comfortable than my BA300, it is heavier and yet way underpowered. The BA300 is plenty comfortable and allows me to play w/ pace w/out gassing myself out. The feedback is also so much better. The VCPs (and even the Percepts that replaced them) are definitely more muted.
