Carlitos, yes I !! Dude continues to excel, lifting a 2nd Queens trophy, seamlessly transitioning from clay to grass. This achievement is particularly remarkable given the marathon of a final at RG, and the challenging encounter with Munar for almost 3.5 hours earlier in the week in intense heat. Carlitos hasn’t played at his best, yet shown some improvements / hasn’t looked ragged either. He is exuding confidence, seems focused and ready to take on further challenges.

He was disgusted with his serving during the Munar match. Went back and came back as a legit servebot for the remaining matches.
Yah man, agree that. Points to note are his improved serve and greater patience. Paying dividends thus far.

This is his 21st tour level title, and 5th of the year so far. He’s now won on all 3 surfaces this year, including indoor hardcourt ATP 500 at Rotterdam, 2 clay Masters 1000 at MC / Rome, the FO, and this grass ATP 500 at Queens. Impressive all court resume for the year to date.

Like Lehecka’s game and attitude. Dude played very well all week, not dropping a set until the sf, when he impressed against Draper playing before the home crowd. Fought hard, was gracious in defeat- gave a good speech. I anticipate he’ll take confidence from this week into Wimbly.

Liked this interview with the BBC - seems they had nowhere to put the trophy down, dude holds it throughout.

Onwards to Wimbledon - looking forward to Carlitos’ further endeavours, and hope he,Jannik and others will also play well.

"Can I ask you how you keep your composure, how you stay calm, when you're under pressure, when interviewers keep asking you questions while you hold a really heavy trophy after playing a three-set final and you think your arms are going to fall off?" ;)

Amazingly, in 2008 there was no week's rest between RG and Queens/Halle. So Nadal and Fed won Queens and Halle the weekend after they played in the FO final.

At least Carlos had the chance to take a few days in Ibiza!
I remember that being a talking point during Wimbledon 2008, how Nadal didn't have time to celebrate winning his 4th French Open and instead had to jump on the Eurostar almost straight away.

He helped end Nadal's career.

Carlos must be quite strong. He held on to the enormous trophy all the while answering questions. I kept thinking, "Just stick it on the ground, Carlos!"

Doubles success all round for the home favourites at Queen's and Halle!! :)

At Queen's, Cash and Glasspool beat the Croatian-New Zealand pair Mektic and Venus in 3.

At Halle, Krawietz and Puetz beat the Italians Bolelli and Vavassori in straights.
