2025 Rio Open | ATP 500

Baez is a completely different player on south-american clay. He hardly ever loses in February. But then he's so bad on European clay, in comparison. Still zero semifinal in the clay Masters1000 and he never got past the 2nd round in Roland-Garros. The difference of level is strange...
Why is it strange. The European clay is where the real challengers play. Golden swing kept on becoming less and less relevant over the years.

This Golden swing is where ferrer thiem and other princes of clay made their marks. But in Europe they never challenged for the titles.

So how many top 10 wins he has on clay outside of slams and masters. Just 1.

It appears the organizers will switch to hardcourts. If that holds, it means it will be the last time I watch it.

A more relevant metric would be how many top 10 clay matches he has in his career. This only shows he can't beat Ruud.

He has 1-7 record vs top 10 on clay meaning his clay resume is over valued at this point
