Jannik takes no nonsense from troll Bublik. Hope Jack was taking notes and will be better prepared for when they next meet!

What do you expect from the best British player currently on the grass at Wimbledon?

Grass may be his best surface but he's not yet made any finals on it unlike hardcourt and clay. The best players can handle all 3 surfaces.

Yikes, forgot about Stuttgart! Please ignore what I said as he's has made finals on all 3 surfaces, just not in any home tournaments (yet). :censored:

If the sinner wins in Paris, will the milestone that every tennis fan has been waiting for since 1969 come?
I told you, Alcaraz has more to lose than Sinner does in the final. And, Sinner who was forced 3.5 months off nearly took the first set from Alcaraz who had a lengthy clay court season. The final will be completely different this time than in Rome.

The match of the season so far is coming.

@DSH

A lot on the line for Alcaraz

1. Sinner has won the last 2 slams
2. He’s the defending Roland Garros champion and supposed heir to Nadal
3. Has a 4-0 record against Sinner
4. Grew up on the surface, unlike Sinner
5. The fans, media and any tennis watcher expects Alcaraz to win
6. Sinner has played his second tournament from returning from a long forced break and is serving bakery products

No what is insufferable is how Sinner fans talk about Sinner not how Sinner himself behaves. I don't like Sinner never did he was always my least favorite of the young crop coming through but I was still fine with him. Now that he's a steroid abuser and has the most annoying fan base in tennis history by miles I dislike him even more than I dislike Zverev. He's reaching an exclusive club of dislike with guys like Aaron Rodgers LeBron and Ryan Braun (another cheater).

You Sinner fans are laughable. "Lock" comedy gold and really disrespectful to other top players one who beat him 4 straight times and has beaten him on all surfaces.
He's a great player obviously but his fans are unbearable.

Yeah, I don't get it. He struggled against Cerundolo and Paul in Rome. Got breadsticked by Paul and Alcaraz. He was down 0-4 and then 2-5 set point against Rinderknech in the 3rd set.
So far he hasn't won anything big on clay, except Umag... But some think he would beat prime Djokodal on clay. This is laughable.

Rublev is the shadow of himself this year, losing to literally everyone. Bublik had no room being there, clearly the slower conditions of the Chatrier didn't favor him compared to the De-Minaur/Draper matches on faster courts. He clearly never fought hard today, yet he was still 2 points away from taking a set. There is no universe where prime Nadal gets to 5-5 in a set against a tanking Bublik, lol.

If Sinner can straight-set Djokovic/Zverev and Alcaraz, I may see the hype on Sunday but right now, his performances are hardly on Ferrer/Murray's level. Djokovic, Zverev and Alcaraz would all have straight-setted Bublik and Rublev in those conditions so I'm taking these matches with a grain of salt. Let's see what happens on Friday.

Guys this is not insufferable at all. Sinner is just 23. He will be here for very very long time.

Insufferable is big 3 , 4 , 5 worship tbh

This is worse. Sinner got whipped in the Rome final after his fans saying he'd be doing the whipping. Now his fans have responded by gifting him the CYGS and all kinds of trophies. It's nuts bro

"Alcaraz has more to lose than Sinner does"

this ridiculous argument you keep making is born in outer space

Sinner is trying to prove he can win a slam on a natural surface....more pressure than a guy who's already proved it, including at this tournament

also more pressure than Alcaraz...

Zverev.....obvious reasons

Djokovic...not a ton of pressure but he clearly wants 25 so it's there.....and he also has far fewer chances at a slam to do something special compared to a 22 year old

dense reasoning by you and you should stop it....doesn't reflect well on Sinner fans at all

I noticed that last year his return points won were not climbing quite as much. I suggested that injury and sickness certainly played their part and that he would crank it up with better prep. Didn't know about the mental stress and didn't expect quite the improvement.

Tennis Abstract is not updating, likely due to the long-standing data barriers by good old RG. According to the ATP Sinner has won 70% of serve and 46% of return games. His 56% is in line with Novak in 2011, however it should trend down, as winning return points has become harder and more faster surfaces are coming.

Djokovic or Zverev will have their work cut out vs Sinner in the semis, I still take Alcaraz to win the whole thing as for some reason he tends to play better in finals of tournaments.

This Sinner-Alcaraz "hold my beer" back and forth is sick. Lol.

I thought If Bublik served well and balanced aggressiveness with his trickery he could compete - for a while - and maybe steal a set. So, something like Sinner winning 7-5, 6-4, 6-2, or 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. Boy was I wrong. I didn't watch the match. Did Bublik seem satisfied with his first QF from the start and was just sort of resigned to it. Or was he fully engaged and Sinner just throttled him anyway? Was there any intrigue in the second set or were they just exchanging holds and Sinner broke at 5-5?

Sinner was in complete control. Bublik had a bit of joy in the second set, he got to 5-5 and then lost serve to a double fault. That was pretty much it for his challenge.

Who do you think will have more pressure in the final and why?
Probably Alcaraz slightly because he defending champion and he meant to be a better clay player. However, it would be pressure for sinner too because lose and it 5 in a row to Alcaraz. That puts more pressure on sinner if they play at Wimbledon and us open.

Let’s not forget how big this is. Sinner can finally level up on 4 slams each if he wins here or Alcaraz moves 2 clear again on 5.

If sinner wins there could be hope for a calendar slam considering how good he is on hard courts and grass too. A monumental match should it happen.
