Sinner just doesn't make mistakes while hitting with so much aggression. You have to really play close to error free tennis, force him into errors and mix it up to beat him. Tall order for mere mortals.

Novak needs to save tennis in the semi. As long as the winner comes from the bottom half I'm happy. Top half would be a disaster.
So you mean Nole save tennis but not win it for himself ? Is he a slave or something ?

If novak reaches the final , he would play for the title and not save this helpless sport

I gotta say, the major downside from personally watching mostly WTA and its inconsistent servers these days, is that now when I watch ATP I'm extremely annoyed when players I don't root for have a good service day lol.

Wasn't going to comment after that first set, but Bulbs made it is decent second. Just too much uphill for him to capitalize when Sinner is this focused. Now, if Sinner lets up for even a second, I think Bulbs could exploit it a bit, but he might already be resolved to take the $$ and be happy. We will see how this third goes.

Wonder if Bublik will tank now. Apparently he said in press on Monday that he would have tanked the entire rest of the match if he’d failed to serve out the 4th vs Draper… even though there was still a 5th to play?? Us mere mortals will never understand

I’m totally fine with how that set played out. We all know Bublik doesn’t have the goods to actually finish the job but at least he made Sinner earn it. That’s all you can ask.

Grok makes peak Andy Murray the favourite over Sinner at two Slams for what it’s worth. Why art thou abandoning Grok now after all he has done for you?
Grok says Sinner has not done ENOUGH on natural surfaces and Grok is correct. This is second year of Sinner's peak tbh so he has enough time to change it. While Murray is finished.

I am projecting a bit but Sinner will be similar to Fed to Raz's Rafa on clay I think . Let us see.

Sinner is probably second best on clay and would have been third best last year as well. If draws were changed and Sinner faced Zverev in semis, I would put money on Sinner

Here’s another problem when facing Sinner. Even if you zone on your serve, Sinner can keep up with his own serve. I believe that he’s now approaching 50 consecutive holds of serve at Rolland Garros. IIRC, Nadal holds the record by holding serve at RG for 66 consecutive service games.

This is the kind of attitude that I can’t abide.

I like Bublik because he’s himself and a bit of a maverick, but playing the clown in Grand Slam QF’s would be where I draw the line.

It’s no longer amusing when you stop taking your match seriously and settle for having made the audience laugh.

That is insane. He is like John Isner, move over Roger , on the holds games.

I think Jack would have won a set at least. He got hammered by Bublik though in that match and was too passive.

I can't believe people are SO ATTACHED to the past that they even make Andy Murray a credible top dog vs Sinner. When there is no proof on Andy Murray side while all the proof from Jannik Sinner side. The evidence keeps piling up.

I find this so depressing as a tennis fan.

I’m absolutely fine with Sinner winning matches but there are there not any half decent returners out here?

It’s like it’s Sinacraz, Novak and then the peasants. What a shame…
