Heh heh, Carlitos seemed in a hurry to get home tonight. Dude played some sensational tennis, his best performance in this event to date. Despite going off the boil, he stayed sharp enough to clinch the win in just over an hour and a half.

Alcaraz's A level is greater than anyone else's A level.
Word, man. Hoping it becomes more ubiquitous.

Paul compromised- dude's been carrying an injury from previous rounds, did his best when he could. Wish him well for the remaining season.

Paul is usually a good to great returner. He was physically f**ked tonight and probably should've retired.
A welcome short match for Alcaraz after some battles in earlier rounds.

1hr 34 minutes makes for a nice hourly rate for Charles.

Agreed. I have written before that Paul fits the current NA stereotype among the top players least. Shame to see him move not as well due to the injury and kudos for fighting.

It was worse than it looked.
This is similar to the 2023 Australian open where Paul looked great reaching the sf, then got a beat down from injured Novak 7-5, 6-1, 6-2

Earlier, Ben Shelton even went so far as calling Paul a contender at Roland Garros,
“Tommy's results on clay [suggest] that clay be his best surface. He’s a dog, and a contender here.”
