I hope he is healthy for grass. Want to see if he can take the next step on grass like you think he can. Really need him to find another level. Tennis needs him, was hoping today he could have shown more.

Yeah, same. Although what's funny is that the only level left for him on grass is to win titles. He won the most matches on grass last year of any player which is still wild to me. Lost to TPaul and Djoko. He had already done better at Wimbledon than RG until today lol

Courier's shrillness and voice-raising and constant "joking" are unsettling. Agassi's monotone allows you to focus on his words and not "this F'ing guy" who sounds like he's a Nadal fan who had a couple drinks
Agassi is too smart for his own sake.

Courier can dumb things down and I like it. Courier was born in Florida

Poor shot selection from Alcaraz in set 1, too many u/e’s and was clearly tight. Musetti played extremely well for two sets and Alcaraz let himself down letting two breaks go including when serving for set 2. Having dug in and claimed the TB, Alcaraz felt relieved and relaxed enough to start playing at the level he is capable of. Meanwhile Musetti couldn’t maintain the intensity and the effort caught up with him. Once it was one set all, I fully expected Carlos to start running away with it although I didn’t see the Musetti injury coming.

Rafa had 3 slams and 9 Masters at 21. Federer had 1 Masters. Federer was nearly 22 before he won his first slam. You are expressing your opinion instead of relying on the basic facts. Rafa was also getting further than the 1st round in slams, and Federer hardly got beyond the first round.
Not sure someone's entire career is based on what they've accomplished before the age of 22.

All said and done, not too confident for Sunday with Raz.

I felt like this at Wimbledon 2024, was like, ok, he isn't beating Novak a 2nd time at Wimbledon final. Then he produced his best tennis in the final lol and stomped Egg.

Whereas at RG 2024 I felt confident he was gonna stomp Zverev and turned out to be a patchy 5 setter. It's hard to predict him but he is solid in grand slam finals, any opposition will have to go hell and back to win now.

I mean that is where his game is on clay too. He has reached a point he needs to push through soon or he might never do it. Think if he does get that big win against the top dogs he can ride that to the next level.

But at some point he is giving me Dimitrov vibes of not being able to find a way.

I can't argue with this, it's very possible he never gets over the Alcaraz Barrier to win a Slam. But there's entertainment in watching him try.

It feels more like watching pre-2012 Murray to me. I thought he was destined to be "always the bridesmaid". Hopefully Lorenzo will break through like Andeh did

If Carlos wins rg again, he would have already achieved atg status.

5 slams, 5-0 in finals
A slam on each surface hard clay grass
Back to back rg and back to back wimby titles
All clay big titles completed

I would say he would be on Andy Murray career level . 6 and he is ahead..

I don't care what Seles did. I'm just demonstrating that it's a myth that Federer was supremely talented.
According to whom? Top players? Rafa fans? Novak fans? Ask any of the players who played against him, and they will ALL say Roger was "supremely talented." If he isn't, who is? Roger's issues (and he had a few) had nothing to do with the fact that the guy was one of the most talented players who have ever played the game.

False modesty (Courier) grates me more than real arrogance (Agassi). Agassi had much more to say about tactics and techniques.

Courier can only kiss butts and talk about Rafa and tries to do Brad Gilbert-Lite, but he can't hide his true nature
Yeah, Courier has always been a *********.

This my dear friend is what our great ancestors deemed the Carlos Alcaraz experience.

I have tickets for Centre Court at WB on the opening Monday. Fortunately I was able to choose which day in the small window I had before tickets disappeared; I wanted and chose that day so I could see Carlos live! So he had better stay healthy :sneaky: #AlcarazExperience
I envy you. I don't even have to say this but have fun!
