draw is up
carlito plays opelka first
fritz vs nava
joker vs learner tien then qualifier probably play tiafoe/ Rune in R16
Chainz has easy early rounds
Sinner vs kopriva easy couple rounds probably play bublik/Paul in R16

Djokovic probably isn't good enough to reach the Semis anyway.
But I hope Djokovic beats Tiafoe/Fritz so Alcaraz can get him.
Alcaraz desperately needs to play Djokovic to close that H2H gap.
Sinner looks too sick to beat Popyrin in R2, and even healthy it'd be tough.

If Novak brings the level he showed at the three previous slams this year, I don't really see anyone toppling him before the semis. Not a cakewalk, exactly, but he matches up well with Fritz and he's simply better than anyone else he might face.

If Meddy suddenly finds form, Alcaraz could be in for a long week. Medvedev, Shelton (fired up in front of his home crowd), and Djokovic all in a row to make the final. Hardly impossible but he'll need to bring his A game and avoid the walkabouts.

With Zed's form this year being so wobbly, I could see him losing in just about any round here lol. Potential banana skins all over the place. Doubt he makes the semis.

Sinner will probably tear through everyone again, but there's some potential for fireworks with Shapovalov in the third round, Bublik or Paul in the fourth round, Draper in the quarters.

Pretty good draw with the potential for some cracking matches from start to finish. We'll see how it all pans out.

Top half of the draw is a joke compared to the bottom... Alcaraz, Djokovic, Shelton, and Fritz all in the same half? That's like 4 of the top 5 favourites, surely? Former champ Medvedev and former (LOL) finalist Ruud in there too. Plus Holger Rune, one of the original 6 Kings.

Meanwhile, up top... KK got to like his chances of a second SF here. What the hell is that second quarter supposed to be? They're basically begging Zverev to do something.

The last 3 slams showed 5 matches was his limit before either his body gave out or he was beaten by Sinner. Peeps still think Novak was the player of 2 years ago. He’s not and has played no warm up matches yet again before this slam. USO is his worst HC slam as well relative to AO.

Sinner wins #5. I put 4 figures on him

I don't disagree with anyone of that. If Novak's off, Fritz could definitely beat him (it's not 2021 anymore), but he was quite good through the quarters at all the previous majors this year. I agree his body probably won't let him nab another major, even if in a vacuum his game is still good enough to beat just about anyone (except probably Sinner on hard courts).

Good, Sinner is guaranteed to get at least some reasonable tests before the Final at least.

I worry about Alcaraz.
Id say Sinners draw is considerably easier than Alcaraz.

Raz has potential Med - Shelton - Djokovic - Sinner in the last 4. Thats 3 former USO champs in 4 matches.

Noles draw isnt too bad, given he has to go through both Sincaraz anyway.

Sinner on the 7th of September will be the first non big 3 player to win 3 slams in a season since Wilander in 1988, and the first player to defend the USO title, since Federer in 2008. Bookmark it.

Actually I think you are only saying that because you know it won't happen.
If it was going to happen you'd celebrate it on September 7th, not now.
Alcaraz is the best player in the world now, 39-2 in his last 41 matches.
And Alcaraz is 6-2 vs. Sinner on hardcourt, including 3-0 since 2024.

Considering the big gaps, meaning basically it is one of these three, I would say Draper by looking at the draw.
If Draper is winning a slam, he will first get it done at USO, before Wimbledon. He won’t be winning it soon though. Sinner will win in 3 weeks time.

Well I doubt Sinner is good enough to beat Popyrin in Round 2.
Popyrin beat Djokovic at last year's US Open, and Sinner has no form and bad health.
Well I would agree Popyrin is more of a test at least. If Alcaraz gets past Opelka, I think the signs are good for him.

ATP says program flagged over 162,000 abusive online comments to players

Associated Press

Aug 21, 2025

LONDON -- The ATP Tour said Thursday its Safe Sport initiative has flagged more than 162,000 abusive social media comments directed at players in its first year.

The tour said more than 3.1 million comments were scanned, with the ones classified as most severe hidden from the 245 players who were targeted.

Safe Sport uses real-time AI to detect and hide social media comments from players' accounts. It launched in July 2024 and is available to the top 250 players in singles and the top 50 in doubles.

Andrew Azzopardi, the ATP's director of safeguarding, said the initiative has "fundamentally changed how we protect our athletes online."

"More than 1 in 10 comments on players' posts were abusive - rising to 50% in extreme cases," Azzopardi said in a statement. "While it won't eliminate abuse overnight, it's our first line of defense. Safeguarding player well being is a long-term commitment."

Safe Sport also supports players facing email threats, impersonation, deepfakes and scams.

Not making excuses whatsoever or discounting, but how many of those comments are bots? Social media platforms are littered with them and unfortunately toxic narratives are started by these bots and we're led to believe these narratives are reflective of the public consciousness when it's actually not. I can't stand social media. Then you have the actual toxic people posting abusive stuff. It's awful. I truly hope players are just letting their teams handle their social media.

Anyway, like I said the draw seems bottom heavy but Sinner does have a few of the best unseeded players in his section in Sonego and Popyrin. Those guys could make some noise.

Looking forward to it immensely.

Hope Sky Sports show all the good matches:-D not just pathologically following British players until they are all knocked out:rolleyes:
