2025 USO Women's Semifinal: [1] Aryna Sabalenka vs. [4] Jessica Pegula

The number 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka will face off against the 4 seed Jessica Pegula tonight in the semifinals of the 2025 US Open. It will be a rematch of last year's USO final, in which Sabalenka defeated Pegula in straight sets, 7-5 7-5. Sabalenka leads the overall H2H 7-2.

Sabalenka has made the semis at 10(!) out of the last 11 slams in which she's played, yet has only been able to go on to win the trophy at 3 of those. Pegula will be playing in front of her home crowd, though she typically doesn't receive quite as much fan support as some other Americans.

(People don't seem to want to make match threads for the women's matches as much, but I think all grand slam semis deserve their own thread)

If Pegula gets to the final, I have to back her, she lost the final last year.

I like Osaka's game when she is on the most though out of all the girls playing here, and her winning this would be great for the sport, and her return to the top. If its Amanda, I'll cheer her if Pegula is not in the final.
