2025 USO Women's Semifinal: [8] Amanda Anisimova vs. [23] Naomi Osaka

The number 8 seed Amanda Anisimova will face off against the number 23 seed Naomi Osaka tonight in the semifinals of the 2025 US Open. Osaka is a 4-time grand slam champion, with her most recent win having been at the 2021 Australian Open. This is her first time making even the QFs at a slam since that victory. Anisimova, having only gone beyond the 4th round twice in her career before this year, has now made back-to-back slam SFs after being runner up at W 2025.

Anisimova leads the H2H 2-0, both wins coming during slams in 2022. Osaka seems to be fully back to the form she had back when he was winning slams, but Anisimova is playing the best and most consistent tennis of her life. Anisimova will be playing in front of a home crowd, but Osaka is probably among the most-liked players by the American crowd on either tour, even though she doesn't play under the American flag.
