There was some interesting (read: worrying) body language from Anisimova when she was up 5-2 in 3rd set and she lost a point. She suddenly showed this negative body language as if she was down 2-5. The commentator also pointed this out. I thought she might flipped and lost her focus. Then she suddenly regained her focus just before the next point.

Her focus seems very fragile, but the same can be said about Sabalenka - although less often and Sabalenka pulled through more often than not.

Anisimova has a 6-3 H2H against Sabalenka. Both don't have a very good record of winning the match when coming from behind, but Sabalenka still has better record in this.

I am glad osaka lost. I wanna see how she does the rest of the way. She’s a very fragile player. I wanna see if this motivates her.

I want Amanda to win the whole thing. Prove them all wrong girl. Make history
What ever history she makes she cannot undo the 6-0 6-0 walloping already into the history books. Somethings cannot be undone, all she needed was atleast one game in wimby final, but she made the mistake she cannot take back.

So glad to hear that Anisimova was able to come back and beat Osaka. What a great way to start the morning. ;)
Yeah I went to bed after the first game of the second set. Got up and searched for the winner on my phone. Glad Amanda won. Naomi is a strange bird and it's hard for me to watch her play for too long. I will credit her for getting herself back into shape and playing very well. She is just too socially awkward to watch in large doses.

Up off the mat and SHAKING THE EARTH BENEATH OUR FEET!!!

Sick of that same sad script where an easy-to-cheer-for lady with much potential gives us a glimmer and then succumbs to her mental gremlins. That horrific final at Wimbledon could have been career ending for anybody without some profound inner strength. (Anybody remember the double thrashing that Dinara Safina endured at the French Open and then at Wimbledon in perhaps '09?)

We'll see. Maybe this will turn out to be a curious blip in an otherwise semi-respectable record for Amanda, but for now I'm just going to dig it and be genuinely happy for her. This sort of turnaround just never seems to materialize among the ranks of the WTA. Once that pecking order is established, it can seem impossible to overcome.

Time to go string some racquets. I think I'll cue up some tunes for Amanda... First up: Dokken - Breaking the Chains!! 8-B

Hoping Amanda can build on this - staying in the fight. And if she could just improve on her movement a bit - she will be a force out there.
